Very true. The skills required and the finesse demanded by the bike, has to lift a rider's skill set.
Not saying that everyone should do, or start doing, them though.

Just fixed it for you for the best way to tell that one. Wheeling a GN250, damn legendary.

And seriously, is it a good idea to try learning to wheelie up a hill? Just sounds damn scary, that might be because I am a wus!!

Yep! Because you'll not have to have the front wheel so far off the ground to reach the balance point...and they'll always come back down when you shut the throttle off!

Hahaha...you can wheelstand nearly anything if you try hard enough! BUT...it'd be a bit hard on your bikes front end come the landing.

I usta be the bmx wheelie king back in the day orright. Funny thing though, my dirtbike wheelies weren't all that great, but after riding wheelieing a roady, I can do 'em pretty good now.
A question for Katman, my stats are way more non-wheelie related crashes than wheelie related ones (1) so.....does this mean I should wheelie more?

    Yes... yes you should Death.

I was the same. Raced BMX, wheelied ok, took up flat land and a little ramp and got pretty good. Grew up, took up MTBs, got even better, then hit the MX and SX racing circuit and Wheelies over whoops, no probs, but long ones?? I sucked for some reason!
Now on the road bike, 1.2 km is considered a good wheelie on the way to work each morning. Love to go back to an MX bike and see if i have improved!

Was pretty crap on my KX125. Not sure if it was the suspention travel of the fact that it was a 2 Stroke. The SV as easy to get up but required good throttle control to overt hard put downs. The Gixxer is easy once its up, but getting the right amount of rpm for the clutch popping is something I need to work on.
