As mentioned, write in and admit to being an idiot and ask to get of the learner infringment.
Well that must have been just before they put all the cones out. Because when i was there it looked exactly the same as every other day. And my flatmate will say the exact same thing who was just infront of me at the time... < lucky for him he was going round 70

Yeah sorry bro not asian or a taxi driver on a bike. (and i met some asian bikers and they are pretty bloody good at what they do). And yeah no attitude, I was actually polite and apologetic at the time.

Why not? You get one for the 28-day roadside license suspension (on accusation, without due process) threshold - 50km/h over a temporary posted speed limit vs 40km/h over a permanent posted speed limit.

The only demerits a cop make note of on a ticket are those for speeding.

All the other ones are not made mention of - they tend to catch people out.

Do you know if demerits get handed out for a noisy exhaust, and if so, how many?

Yes, I've only ever seen speeding demerits noted on an ION and it seems more informational.

I was just commenting on the fact that only the demerits of the highest value are recorded against your license for offences ticketed arising from the same set of cirumstances. Despite what they have been saying on 'Road Cops' when the kid has been issued two license breaches and they've claimed '70 Demerits' as the conclusion.

Operate vehicle that creates excessive noise - $50 infringement fee (up tp $1000 on summary conviction) and 25 demerit points.

I got a noisy exhaust fine once but it didn't say anything about demerits. It tested at 108dB.
