Heavy duty tube. Dropped the pressures a bit to reduce the stress on the tyre. Only seal on the way home. Was more worried about something poking in there. As it happens the split didn't get any larger, & the tube was good when I changed things in Wellington. We thought about putting a repair inside the tyre, but decided that might cause more issues.

to the shed, had to get the young fella for a push.... clogged up with dirt and it wouldnt throw it off.

It makes a blloody big mess & smells strongly of chlorine. If you haven't found out why your tube died, then even if it does work (which is not often) it'll puncture again. Carry a tube. I'm sure you know how to repair a tyre, if not you need to learn. MarkS found this out the hard way at the last KCAR.
