"No matter what bike you ride. It's all the same wind in your face"
My congrats to MAG-NZ... as good as their word springs to mind.. long may it continue and long may NZ motorcyclists become more ACTIVELY involved in voicing their dissaproval over the anti-community legislation that these governments promote...
Hats off to ya'll![]()
I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
As a minor sidelight, the ART day at Pukekohe was not "a track day".
It is actually advanced rider training, already doing what MAG in part is asking for.
You don't need to change your tyres: I've instructed there on Tourances on occasion.
As another sidelight, great to see a revival of this idea. The first NZ MAG ran from the time of an ACC protest ride in 1977 until about 1982. Go for it, and keep it going.
I have corrected my obvious mistake.
Pete, thank you for your comments. I agree it is important to make a clear distinction between, Advanced Rider Training at a track, and straight out track days, with no formal training happening. Having said that I am picking there will be an argument that sole track days allow for practice of skills so are still valuable in the big picture.
You know about the previous MAG Action? Do you know anyone involved in it? I remember attending protests back in the '70s, I always thought they were BRONZ ones.
great day yesterday..........thanks to the MAG NZ crew for puttin it together.......great snags and plenty of bikes to cast ya eyes over...........
however.......im not so sure cruisin at 80-90ks in the fast lane of the M/way holding up people on their day off did the cause any favours......i understand it was a protest ride but i did notice a lot of pissed off agressive car drivers muttering abuse at us as they finally whistled by on our left...........i suspect that even if they knew what it was about,we would no longer have their support.Im sure the fuzz would probably have something to say about it safety wise as well..
and do you know how hard it is to crawl at 85ks on a daytona?????
still..........ya got my $ as promised caseye and look forward to the next ride asap

The 15 to 20 bikes and riders enjoyed themselves on the Fish and Chip run to Akaroa. We had one bike and pillion who enjoyed the ride so much that They introduced an element I didnt consider, The adventure ride, yep they got lost and used evey bit of gravel they could find getting back to to our sponsors. Repco Northwood, top effort guys.
Also we had to ask for help from another group that were on a different run, those suasages didn't stand a chance after the call for assistance was answered ...........on Friday for a Sunday meetup.
If you want to know more, Pay ya $20 get on the mailing list And look for the Canterbury Run Report in the next Mag Rag
Cheers
Canterbury Team
