It's just a learner escort ride officer, you guys told us it's real dangerous to be on bikes, so we all in a group with this learner to keep him safe, and going slow cos speed kills doncha know

Times like these I almost want to live closer to auckland, :shudder:

I see a wee game in prospect.

I'm off to the Burt in a week or so. Wonder if my planned route will correspond with proposed checkpoints…..

On a monday morning it wouldn't even have to be that, the traffic moves that slowly in a Auckland "rush" hour.. One bike per, lets say, truck space (it's good to keep your distance ) per lane, each one moving very very slowly in the already slow traffic.

Whichever day, whenever it gets organised for I'm willing to be there holding up traffic.

I paid my Rego in September of 2008 - it was $279ish I think. Then last year I paid $330ish and this year it was $405. I don't trust them not to put it up again next year - especially if we bend over and take what they have for us so far. For you guys with over 600cc it is even worse at $528, what if they whack on another $50 or more next year? What about the following year? They already let us know what they wanted to put it up to, why would we think that they wont take it there over a few years?

Maybe we should be more like the Canadians and do some more serious protesting, eh?

I was in MAG UK for many years, every time there was a rally, poker run; charity event etc, there would be a protest for biker’s rights, constantly keeping up the pressure. Riding bikes is what its about and we all want to be able to continue doing it. How about trying convince individual event organisers to incorporate an ACC protest, every time a large group of riders gets together.

Could just full up the ACC car park?
    With mines?
Drop a 40 foot container across their drive with a little banner tacked to it?
Take the little prick who thought this total theft was Okay, handcuff him to an old potbelly stove and chuck him off a wharf?
    We got fucked.
And we will get fucked again…
And some ACC lackey wants to tell me about the dangers of riding?
Can think of a few dangers from riders that he may not be aware of.

    75cc over… FFFFFFFUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But no, they are just here to help.
We all have our little obsessions...

I guess the best thing to do is pull a u turn when you see a checkpoint and get them to chase you down to give you the lecture. Works best if you are fully legal though.

An easier solution is to sack him next year when he asks for your vote.
Don't blame me, I voted Green.

Can't think of any reason to keep him - or his cronies. Have to be some pretty bad side effects to put up with the current lot - I thought the last lot were useless, but at least they could be funny.

I find I prefer the more conventional comedies, levity tends to pale a tad in the face of extreme penury.

Yes, we are certainly heading that way. Pity, I kind of hoped that our beloved leaders might have a few ideas that may have resulted in positive change, but it seems beyond a charming PM with a lovely smile they have few tools in the toolbox.
