Nice. You could go night clubbing in those.

I went over the bars a few years ago, and struggled to walk proper for a few weeks after. Shins hit the bars. Always worn full length mx boots since.

But hey....you've seen me ride. Most other people are....how can I put this....a little more cautious (except you Woodman).

One of the reasons I am keen is that the top of my full length boots often get caught under the fuel tank when standing and caused some bloody hairy moments.

Bloody good actually.

Walking on gravel you can feel the individual stones through the soles (sounds weird, but true) yet the sole is very stiff, mx style, with a metal bar so standing and landing jumps is no problem.
The cut out in the back means whilst being stiff, you can walk in them no problems.

The sole has a good heel and a nice grippy compound. No metal toecap to gark up the floor.

They're not waterproof but some bees wax will help.

Some shin guards and you're set.

My Fly Stinger Shorties (not even broken in yet) and Stylmartin Stormys are going up for sale.

Keeping the Gaerne Aquatech road boots, Gaerne MX boots and Oxtar Infinity Goretex Adv boots.

Long distance or winter adventuring and I'd take the Infinities in a heartbeat - sooo comfortable, waterproof and warm.

Day to day it's the Aquatech roadies - comfortable, light and easy to get on and off and waterproof(ish).

MX - the MX boots although the ankle protection on the Tech 2's is better.

Short adventuring, trail riding or if I know I'll want to stand a lot then it'll be the Tech 2's.

Even little things like the metal buckles. I was wondering why the top one buckled down over the ankle and the front one buckled up over the top of the foot and I realised they're also impact protection for the ankle and foot

Off for a walk to break them/me in a bit.

i deleted it, thought i would have been fast enough,
i got a pair of those fly shorties like nordies ones mate and they are great, just one buckle short of a full length but still long enough for safety and support , just a bit of a bitch on the shins till they wear in

Wore them over the Dove Hill/Sunday Creek to Tap and was impressed.
Copped a bird on the top of the left boot no problem.
Wore them all day at the MX, walking the hilly track with no issues.

They've got the advantage over the Fly Stinger Shorties in the looks, protection, comfort and not garking up the floor with a metal toecap stakes.
The Stingers have a better sole but there's not much in it.

They give good tongue too. No digging into your shin at all.

The DR got backed into at a job t'other day.

The points of impact were the very corner of the hand guard, the rear foot peg mount and the end of the SuperTrapp.
All got tiny marks.

Fell juuuust right to bend the right handguard back to 45 deg.

These are Zeta ones that are usually very very strong but mine are non-anodised and quite soft. However it absorbed almost all the force and the bars were still perfectly straight.

Unfortunately, to get the retainers and Vibranators out, it'll require cutting the bars up with a hacksaw

New bars time...

Lets go higher and get rid of the spacers...

Get the bottom one looking more like the top one...

Spin them back to 10mm...

They're about 2-3cm higher than before, which you notice when seated as before was about perfect.
