    .
Definitely no oil in airbox but spark plug gets pretty oily so can only really be the rings yet it doesn't blow any smoke even under hard accleration??
Would use 200-300mls of oil on a 4-5hour ride
Nothing to get to worried about at this stage and will probably wait to after the Dusty Butt before I open her up.
Bike has done close to 40,000km on original piston and rings so is due for some work

Ummmm Matt, it was a bit smokey at the HAGD, just before it digested its air filter! mainly on over run. Mines the same but 1/2 your oil consumtion and no oily plug. Talking to Brendan at Honda Country (know these things inside out) told me that they will use oil and will only become an issue when they start showing metal in the filter. I'm living life to that rule and on his advice have gone to a cheap mineral oil and are doing it every 2nd race meet or 1000km.....oil consumption dropped on mineral.

Cheers Brent, thankfully no metal in filter thus far, a few people have told me XR's use a bit of oil so I'm not that concerned, have ordered a top end gasket set and going to go with the Wossner piston and will hold on to them til I get a chance to "do the deed"!
Are you still going to do the DUsty Butt, haven't seen your name on the registration?

Thats nice. Jmo from Advrider did a XR650R in similar style for the Heros back in 2008 (or there abouts).
