It takes me ages to get the old bike over Dyers at the best of times. We have the climb over the Akaroa on this run.
One slight change required to this - you've chosen to go up Worcester St from the museum to Cambridge Tce, but the section between Montreal and Cambridge is one way the other way, therefore heading up Hereford instead would be required like this.

The road into the bay is narrow and steep. It takes me ages to get down because I have 30's technology brakes and its a first gear climb out.

The summit road is a bit narrow and very windy. But its very do-able.

Is it a sealed or a metal road?

Last time I went over there I was 7 or 8 and it was in Dads car and it was pissing down.

It's all good, i went to okains bay a while back to pick up a tag, summit road from hilltop and down to the bay was all good, and from there to akaroa via the summit road was good too.

I might make this, I'll see how adventurous I'm feeling on the day.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

    Okains bay

I was actually there today, the petrol status is:

due to a lack of petrol in Chch (something like this) they are out of 91, but they do offer diesel.

So at least flip's sidecar is covered

I have talked my uncle into coming tomorrow, he does not have a vintage bike, but he is no Rossi either.

    See you all there

I'm looking forward to it. The weather is forecast to be fine and warm though probably nor west, but as long as we stay in the lee of the side car rig we should be fine see ya'll tomorrow ...

No I have not, I need to acquire a phrase book from last century so I have some idea of what your saying to me. Like the time you said something about chasing me up a tree or something.

She's looking a bit windy currently.

It was kidding you up a gum tree and then chopping it (the gum tree) down.

Good idea about the phrase book though young grasshopper!!!!!!!!!

Anyway!!!!!!!! Rather a good run today. When we all arrived at our destination!!!!!

Rather like the words of the old song "Do you know the way to San something, something, something...................

I followed the example of our "fearless leader" and took a wrong turn and did a tiki tour of Little Akaloa. A rather steep road in both directions.

Had a neat ride also, got stung by some thing on the way home so I am sitting quietly at home and have taken some antihistamine.

The head wind on the way home kept my speed to under 80kph was a bit of a bugger. I am really pleased with how the old bike is running now.
