DR650 pegs fit good . Mines the older model so check first.

If you're planning on doing rides of any reasonable distance, don't be too quick to fit a noisy pipe - what sounds way cool for the first 15 minutes can be very tiring toward the end of a long day (and these bikes are very capable of long days - the seat is pretty good, the ergos are good and the fairing does reduce wind blast)

PS the 22 cent mod is actually the 2 cent mod - thats the cost of a single washer to put under the carb needle clip.

I don't know what a dyno jet kit is but sounds pretty cool & hi techy. Look up klr50net & there are pretty good easy to follow pics. If I was to buy another one I'd def get rid of the stock pipe. They are really heavy & pretty restricted - even gutted ones. I'd get a 2nd hand sportbike stock pipe (heaps around, as they are always replaced with aftermarket pretty cheap compared to a new performance pipe) & get a exhaust shop to modify it to fit. The mods are very easy to do - takes bugger all time & really makes a difference.

I'd also really really recommend getting some crash bars if you're even remotely thinking about going slightly offroad - and you will want to cos as soon as you start going down gravel roads you' start wondering where all those tracks go to Apparently the Givibars have a cross bar between the outside bars that stops them from bending in & hitting the fairings.

Did I mention loctite? Also the headlite cover is a very good call - I forgot to mention that as the replacements are in the $600-700s.

Don't be too disappointed with the performance compared to the motard - they'll go a lot more places

Got a price on the givi crash bars today, not bad at $300.
Blue loctite and ventura headlight cover are on the list too.
A new pipe will go on the backburner till other stuff is sorted.

and what good screens do we have available to us in NZ? I want a taller one, but not one of those really tall - look really stoopid screens. The Zero gravity's are nice but cant remember if anyone imports them.

the bleeding from the ears stops after the first day or so and not too many car windows shatter as you drive past.....

Exctly the same sentiments mark.

I have put the big harley looking plastic ghey looking plastic sail on mine & in Winter / cooler riding it is very good (bugger what it looks like - I'm toasty warm). In summer with the enduroised front headlite thing I have to say it works better than the stock screen at redirecting air movement. I think the fault with the stock is it directs all the front air in a nice wall straight at your eyes.

Don't get hung up on the doo man, the new doos are good but the spring is most probably stretched too much or worse case broken. The big problem is the little bits of springs get in places they shouldn't. I replaced mine (dealer did for free) with the 12K service. It's not a biggie to do yourself if you have the rotor puller - I have Woodmans here if you need it- & the manual.
