There's no mystery to the riding thing. Same defensive driving skills I've been using on four wheels for the past 42 years of driving, just more ramifications if you fark it up.
Your a boy racer with 42 years of driving under your belt? You must look a bit of a dick cruising with people that are less than half your age, I'm a bit worried to ask what car you drive...

To the OP...if you wanna 'mash it off the line' then get your arse to MereMere.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Really? I have had my full license for 16 months and I am such a noob - but I ride with people that have 40 years more experience than me.

Not into corners, you must be doing it wrong! I ride a cruiser and I can throw it around corners and have a blast!
Perhaps you should get a drag bike? Fast and with no corners - might suit the boy racer in you.

From the original post, I thought you were a testosterone filled teenager...I hoped you would survive your teenage years and grow up.
It seems you survived the teen age years...but still have not achieved the "grown up" bit...

Get yourself a streetstock and take it to the track, then we will see what kind of noob you are!

I was looking at cbf for like 2 minutes when I decided to get a bike. 21HP wouldn't pull you out of bed.
If you're looking for something with a bit more power then check out the 250 Hornet (40HP with 24Nms of torque @11000 RPM) or the 250 Bandit, as you already mentioned (45HP 25Nms of torque@10500 RPM). Both gorgeous bikes.

Or a VT250 Spada, 40hp and 28nm of torque. Much more useable. They return 4L/100km and go for ever and they have normal tyre sizes unlike the Hornet (Which I agree, are great wee bikes) plus the Spada is far cheaper to buy.

Wow! Didnt realise the Spada was that nippy. Good call. Nice bit of torque indeed. That would come in handy zipping up Majoribanks st for the heavier plonkers, like myself

Don't know where those HP figures come from...they are rubbish.
At their peak the ZXR and CBRR put out nigh-on 45hp. A Hornet and a Bandit don't even come close to them. And the Spada (great bike etc - highly recommended) wouldn't have gone over 37ish.

Mine on the 1st dyno was 32rwhp, clac 40hp at the crank. (The last dyno got 36...oooh huge)
The bandit was factory claimed 40hp as was the Hornet.
Yeah, the zxr/cbr made around 45hp some were slightly more, some slightly less.
I have the factory manual/specs for the Spade on my computer and they also say 40hp. 3 down on the vt250f2 Integra, but, more torque.

    They're a brilliant learner bike.

    There's a clue...
I'm not knocking any of the bikes mentioned, but don't be living in a dreamworld as to their actual power.
The Spada is pretty handy for someone who can ride too. Good power delivery and excellent handing. Wheels take decent tyres too.

I know you're not mocking them I have seen mine make what translates to 40crank hp though, so I am happy to stand beside that claim, only for the Spada though. I see the metallic blue beast was back on trademe? Still going strong!
