Any of you fullahs up for a ride tomorrow ?

I need to work out some sort of fuel range with mixed riding, I'm sure I can get more than 150k's per tank
Not you Topo.. I'm thinking of keeping to MY touring speeds

I remember last year the weather foreskin was not that flash, but it turned out good. bit of rain coming into chch and a bit leaving fairlie on the monday. otherwise fine.

Just taped the roll sheet together and installed it. yippee.
gonna check my wheel bearings tomorrow as am a bit paranoid about them. Only other worry bikewise is the oil consumption. Will need to carry a couple of litres on board.

Padmei are you going to replace your rear bearing,? I seem to remember you almost failed scrutineering because of it. Or are you taking the car errr BMW.?
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Woodman I'm gonna take Schmidtty & give it a run. I went with Nordie up the top of the Maunga toady & looked at the washed out bit- fecking puckering if I had to take a bike thru that. I had a ride on Nordies new toy & although he reckoned the supenders were crap I have to say I would really like a small bike.

Can you remember what the terrain was like at the DB last year? Noone seems to wantto let me know - same or worse than the northern DB route? If it's too knarly I'll get Gonzo's bearing done.

jatz I'mnot talking to you but will only ask a few questions so you'll be allowed to answer them. Where's you get your 350 from? TM? I take it you went with the 350 for the 6th gear? Hows it go?

I,ve seen you ride a lot worse terrain with aplomb. won't be a problem to you at all. the worst bit for me was the omarama saddle for some reason, not overly challenging but it just got on my nerves and I somehow rode into a ditch.
Schmidt will be fine too. You will love the bigcountry.

Schmiddy felt like half the bike he was up Ben Nevis.
Those dodgy risers, pivot pegs, headlight, seat, brakes all add up to

    Now for the suspension...

I'd like to get out, but only for a couple of hours... best in the morning. Maungatapu sounds exciting at the moment but open to offers.
    Cheers,

The TT's engine is soo sweet and smooth.
The riding position needs work. Seated, the bars are perfect but my knees are around my ears.
It felt like the DR has better suspension but the lighter weight of the 350 makes it more easily deflected by rocks etc.

    Seat - 5cm higher.
    Footpegs - 1.5x longer and 2x wider.
Bars - 8cm or so higher.
Grips - evil, evil things! Progrip 714's FTW.
    Hand guards.
GPS mount - Hmmm... Bike is 6v DC so may be able to just throw a diode in to drop a volt.
Tyres - Shinko 705's would be fun to try

    Suspension...
    Oh boy...

This is going to be fun

Someone hurry up and name a time...

I'll be using a 705 front and worn E-07 rear.
