    Hey Spud.

There's some fucken animals here alright mate, but there are animals in every country.

The only thing we can realistically do is bring our kids up correctly with a very strong sense of right and wrong. And vote for the Sensible Sentencing Trust party come election time. Bit of good, old fashioned vigilante justice never goes astray either.
Vote David Bain for MNZ president

Don't beat yourself up. In most countries incidents like this never become national news they are so common.
The hardest thing to bare is the fact we are average but we should be thankful that things are not so bad that these incidents get swept under the carpet.

Yeah, one definition of news is 'stuff that almost never happens'.

It's when it stops getting reported that know it's a problem.

Yeah, I know there's lots of good stuff happening and good folks around (good luck for Nat's mate) but after 26 days away at work I was getting all excited about getting home (not even the crack of dawn is safe the first coupla days) and then read about some of the goings on. Dunno, it just kicked me in the guts. Sticking ya head in the sand is a crappy solution but how else do you stay sane? How do you change anything?

I swear we're culling the wrong animals.

What, you mean like the Kaikoura seal slaughter? Or when that cunt Andrew Hore (yes, the All Black) and his mates decided to go and shoot some seals just for the hell of it?

These are just examples to do with seals for chrissakes, and are vastly out numbered by the usual child/spouse/animal cruelty cases that go completely unmentioned.

Sorry, your definition of news may make it easier for you to accept but I can't say I agree with it.

another reason for the decent sorts to bear children....fill the world with nice people....

there is much horror in today's world......but then, there always has been.

    Just to varying degrees.....

you, you are personally responsible for you so if you be decent, live your life with morals....respect all...then the world is not that bad, fact.

find the good! always find the good, for if you focus on the bad - you may as well shoot yourself now.

    For fucks sake

Why is our justice system so fucked when it comes to animal cruelty? (the whole system is retarded in general I guess but still...)

Those shit heads that clubbed that baby seal with an oar were released and charges are 'likely'. Why not club them in the head till their head and brain are bleeding etc.

Yeah yeah, I know 'an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind' but at least then they couldn't see any more seals to club.

No idea why you'd be embarrassed about the actions of somebody else are relatives of yours?

I suppose nothing like that ever happens in Australia?

Yeah, New Zealand seems to be a country where crims, shitbags and the malicious seem to be protected more than anyone else, especially those who can't protect themselves like kids and animals.

The justice system is just a part of this issue and agree their whole process is questionable but the real issue I struggle with is why these guys actually did what they did. I kill things but humanly and to eat, rabbits, sheep etc, but I just can't understand what they got out of their actions.
Don't judge me based upon your ignorance.

    Thumbs up

While it may not happen that often or is not reported very often I don't know that it signifies that it happens less than other countries

We are only a country of 4 million I'd be curious what the proportion is

Crap I didn't mean for it to have a thumbs up but cant work out how to change it on my phone
