I ain`t no road racer rat, but would like to make the most of what I`m riding.
There`s a Pro Rider Road Rider Training Day coming up In Feburary...would it be worth doing that or instead doing a low/mid level track day?

Have you thought about California Superbike School at Hampton Downs?
There's two days on 7th and 8th Feb. Also a track day on the 9th.
The skills you learn are immediately transferrable whether you ride on the road or track.
Ummm just noticed your in the rapa...
I did a pro-rider day at Manfeild last year. It seemed pretty good for any level of rider, as they split you up into groups according to skill & experience.
I think it was time and money well spent.
Will probably do more when my work schedule permits.
Keep on chooglin'
Victoria Motorcycle Club are having a track day at Manfeild on 20 Feb. $60 for non-members and there should be an opportunity for some low-key coaching depending on your needs.
Hey mate. I have done 2 x prorider courses on the track and thoroughly enjoyed it each time. Karol is an exceptional trainer, and all of her assistant coaches are wonderful at assisting each person with their individual needs throughout the day.
A convinced a bunch of my mates to come along with me for the second one, and all of them had very positive feedback about the course - with all levels of experience.
Big thumbs up from me, am looking at booking in again in Feb too for a third one, refresh some skills.![]()
Does she ever do it at Puke/HD?
I wouldn't mind finding out more.
I too have heard positive things about Pro Rider training.
Mrs Berg and I have done two and find them very good. Have already booked for Easter's advanced course
If you are what you eat, then I'm fast, cheap and easy
I have a gas axe and a welder! What do you mean "it won't fit"?
just do it!
There's one on the 20th March at Puke.
Unfortunately she had to change the date from February, and the new date doesn't suit, so I'm taking my husband on a road trip and heading to the hills.
I did the first one at Manfield and loved it and then Pukekohe in November last year.
www.prorider.co.nz has dates & more details. Go book yourself in, it's a good day and you'll learn as much as you can take in (hence me going back again soon).
Well, completed the Pro Rider training day yesterday and had a blast.
Karel and the training assistants really know their stuff, and I`m sure everyone there would recon it was worth it...even the rider who dropped the R6 at the hairpin.
The day was well planned, with each lesson leading to the next, and everything combined at the last 20 minute ride.
The one-on-one coaching rides where great...my problem being tipping into a certain 2 corners to early, one causing me to exit a bit wide out of the hairpin.
By the end of the day (0900 to 1700) we where all upping the pace and relaxing into it.
Would have gone to the Murry`s Irish Bar get together after, but was a bit tired and had to ride home.
Was a bit sore this morning, so got a good workout from the days riding.
Let the good times roll
It was a great day.
I'll have to post up a few photos. Andrew Forward was there in the next garage with his highly modified 1098R. Was great to hear and see that going around the track (will post up a video lap of it).
Was great having KArel give me 1:1 advice. It amazes me how another rider can watch me for 1 lap, then circulate ahead, showing me lines and keeping a slower pace to suit me.
Only casualty was the left side of my belly pan that scraped through the hairpin (should have got off the bike a bit more and on the throttle a bit earlier to gain some more clearance). Never mind - chicks dig (bike) scars eh?
The Metzelers aren't bad tyres and didn't let me (or themselves) down.
