Where did this happen do you think mate? I would think a lot of people have done over 200 regularly around the Albany area. What form of camera was it? Van?

Is anyone aware of when they were looking to introduce the point-to-point average speed camera system?

200+ on a public road is a little, er silly. But who am I to judge I might have gone a little over 103.4 once or twice but always on a closed road under professional supervision

Still for the sake of the rest of us I would ask to see the footage - and get a copy for Youtube if you can - so we know where they are putting these cameras.

I would also ask nicely when the camera was last collaborated and whether it has been tested for tape stretch due to heat etc.
Then ask what frame rate / shutter speed it was set to at the time.

There is no way you could keep up with their deployment around Auckland. They cover most the entire motorway system and are on many main roads such as Lincoln road and Te Atatu roads out west.
There is also a significant network in places like Auckland central and Newmarket.

Hi all, nope it wasn't the cameras, got pinged from a radar on the other side of the motorway, and they used the cameras to track me.

looks like I'll be getting a bit more exercise..

    Cheers for all the comments.

Hmmm looks like you took a risk, put out a challenge and they are taking you up on it!

They can now use you as an excuse to bring in new measures to make the lives of the rest of us even more miserable!

    Thanks a bunch!

You see that is exactly why you should not admit to it being you, how can they prove that you were riding the bike at that time unless they stopped you in the act, I certainly do not think that they have a solid case to relive you of your licence instantly unless you were dumb enough to admit that it was you riding at the time of the aleged incident, so if you did not admit that it was you get yourself a lawyer.

This was probably all due to the lack of awareness from the poor access to knowledge on track days.

The rider could have just travelled 75km/ 45 mins to Pukekohe and do the same speed he was doing around a corner for double fun, multiple times! Now ask yourself the question- why would such a person then frequently need to do 200+ on motorways?

Police or some authority need to stop this zealotry for speeding entrapment and arm riders with the knowledge of where they CAN speed. There is no use trying to stop us; we are merely males with machines. Young guns don't give a flying fuck about possible consequences and no one will change that.

True, - but prepared to pay tickets now and then - oh and of course some will kill themselves.

But no speed will be involved of course!

Can any 1 ID the rider ?? Was the bike in a Locked or UNLOCKED shed that day?? How certain are they it was your bike ?? Ask as many questions as they would ask you & think twice before you answer any of theirs.

I have recently received an infringement notice for doing 85 in an 80 km/hr zone on 2/1/11. On the covering letter it states:

".. you may choose to transfer liability for this offense to the person who was. On the back of this letter you will find a Statutory Declaration form for this purpose. You do not have to transfer liability. There are no demerit points for this offence."

So, you write to the infringement office and state that a number of people rode your bike that day (didn't they?) and you cannot be sure who was riding it when the supposed offense took place. You therefore will pay the fine because you cannot identify the rider and transfer liability.

There is no demerit points for a camera registered offense, therefore you cannot lose your licence, especially for an offence which might have been committed by someone else.
