That's what happens when you don't come along for a little ride...

The pizza was pretty damn good, we should go there again some time!

I got a text from Gremlin saying they were heading to Maraetai so I busted out there, thinking I was making good time because no one was around and I get a text from him saying Clevedon, so I bust out there!

I was still a sweaty mess from exercising and took ages to cool down, damn humidity! But the candle and the horrible birthday song made it all better (and being shoved free pizza by Sharry and Todd!).

The owner of that establishment seemed like a chill bloke, could be a new local!

Gremlin: Sorry I left early, the sheer force of your BMW's presence pushed me home!

This guy, what a Narutard ;p Nah, nice colouring I'll be sure to pass it on. A little disappointed with the latest story arc aye. I think the author's kinda gotten sick of writing but is forced to continue because of the popularity. Same with Bleach, but the quality hasn't dropped as much.

Went out for another spin during our lunch-break today, this time with Wanpo riding an R1. He was pretty quick through the twisties on the CBR, quicker again on the GSXR, but he was much quicker than both of them on the R1, and looked more comfortable with it. I think we'll have to make a habit of these lunch-break rides to break up the monotony of the otherwise normal workday.

Far out, that thing was ridiculous. No matter what speed I was going, it felt 30km/h under that. I instantly turned into a cock upon straddling that bike. It was quick and accelerated HARD, but it felt like it was trying a lot more than the Gixxer/CBR (Engine started vibrating and it felt like it really didn't want to pull from down low in the RPM.)

And the noise... THE NOISE. Had aftermarket carbon pipes on it. I actually had to put earplugs in half way through.

I think I'm still tending towards the CBR, but I hadn't made my mind up about the CBR two years back, things would probably be different.

Edit: Booked in a 2008 ZX10R for a test ride tomorrow. Will see how it compares to the bunch. And unless I fall in love with it, will be going by after work to pick up my Silver 2008 CBR100RR. (Will be giving GW a long reach around on the ride out there, will be the longest pillion ride I've ever done)

you are making it sound as if we can blame our bikes for transforming us into wankers by swinging a leg over it... personally my need for speed, especially through twisties, comes from the fact that i don't get out riding enough so sometimes when i do I get carried away a little

also.. ever thought that maybe its because you are becoming more comfortable with riding biker/better bikes and also repeating the same road repeatedly within a short time frame... so riding them harder as more confident? maybe should go and re-test the CBR?

Yeah, I would have thought along the same lines of the familiarity thing, but the R1 made me feel like a shit rider, I was pretty much doing nothing, it felt like I was going slow and it was still faster than I had gone around on the other two. I will be taking the CBR for a short ride before handing over the monies tomorrow.

Damn your logic, are you a Vulcan?
But no seriously, we did briefly discuss familiarity today but there was a real difference between how he went on the R1 vs the other bikes that I don't think could just be put down to familiarity with the route we took. Regardless of each bike's performance, it seems that his heart is firmly set on the CBR.

And I'll be his taxi service for picking up the CBR. I'll try to remember to put the pillion seat on instead of the rear cowling tomorrow morning.

Yeah I agree the story has lost it's oomph, I still like it and it's still far more diverse than Bleach where Kubo is literally too lazy to draw half of the backgrounds these days, but both are being drawn out for the sake of money if you ask me. They can do whatever they want and people will still watch/read it.

I can firmly believe that bikes can turn you into an asshole. I had a 2008 ZX-10 as a loaner for about a week and I was a bit of a tosser on it. I didn't even like the bike that much, although that could be why I was abusing its power, to make something I didn't really like fun. I don't know.

I'm happy with my big ol' 800cc elephant!

Looking forward to seeing the new CBR
