40000kms on, and I havn't needed a valve shim, or anything mechanical repaired.
No oil leaks, (cept for chain splooge).
New front wheel assy under warranty without too much fuss.
Triumph has come a long way.
I would like to ride the new W800 when it hits our shores though.

No, not confused...
Carbies are easy, peasy - decisions - decisions.
I am a closet Triumph owner, I feel it is about time I came out, but...
That little buell has done my head in tonightIf it is the same one, I saw it in Wellington Motorcycles and well the term "fizzing at the bung" springs to mind. I was offered a test ride but it was a typically lovely Welly day, windy as all get out and absolutely throwing it down. I was not that familiar with Wellington City streets(could do it now no worries) and I had no gear (though I could have borrowed some). The offer was extended for another day, but we were only down there for a family funeral, so that did not work out.
If it is the same one, it was an import, and a pint sized version of the original, and I have to own it*sigh*
I have asked the questions, and am waiting on answers. Pete, standby for a call tomorrow![]()
I'm hanging out to see Shaun Harris squirt the Deus X "Twister" scrambler around Pierower.
I really don't think it matter too much which bikeis more "Triumph".
I like the style of both, and day to day living would be easy with both.
Get the one that fits best. Wallet and ergos. MHO
(I really want a Triumph XC to punt about on though, c'mon Dave. Get a test ride.)![]()

The sounds...
The smells...
The breakdowns...![]()
I know, that is unfair. I have a wonderfully, colourful, fantastic, frustrating, special motorbike right now. She is missing a vital bit of equipment (for me) so I am not riding her at the moment. I have started a new job where I need reliable wheels, I have a bit of a commute. I have a carBut I want to commute on 2 wheels.
I wont take my bike, I value rear vision too much, and parts for the BB can not be bought off the shelf. If I am to replace BB, then I want to replace her with something that I dont have to be concerned about regarding reliability.
Thats cause I float between kanny's bikes, and a few others
Plus I know you really want a low milage, carbed, two tone blue scrambler with only one owner![]()
This is the one for me.

Your first intelligent post in this thread.. Scram has 50k up , motor is rock solid, she is as reliable as any jap bike. There are Bonnies in the US that have over 100000 miles without any motor work.
The wife went from a GPX 250 to an A1. She is rapt , except for the extra weight at low speeds which is inherent is any larger bike she believes it is an easier bike to ride & safer for the average rider than her little 250.
We recently completed a tour of the SI. The Bonnies attracted attention wherever we went, we were probably less threatening & seemed more aproachable to Joe Citizen than the average Harley set or sprot bike riders , older people just get the Bonnies, even the youngies are not immune
