Yup, that one was pretty massive.. may have been less severe than the initial quake, but it was a lot shallower, and pretty much right under the port hills, so it felt at least as severe, and it's done more damage in terms of chucking stuff about my room than the initial quake back in September.

On the bright side, this time we still have power.

Stuff has reported the Cathedral has been destroyed and eyewitnesses have said there is worse.

Yep, two good ones about 10 mins apart, pot plants and lights etc flinging around like crazy!

Don't know about the Cathedral but a chapel (as big as the Cathedral) is gone. It's a goner.

I'm now in town (outside) and I see some destruction.

Kiwiblog commenter saying that he's heard from a brother in the CBD that it's "just" the tower not the whole building.

6.3 centered at Lyttleton 5km deep (according to Harold). Smaller than the first but quite a bit closer if my geograpraphy is correct and half the depth.
