if you don't want to crap in the garden and your toilet is safely accessible ... take a rubbish bin liner and pop it in the bowl (hood around the lip of the loo under the seat edge) ... use that and don't empty each time but when ready to, seal it for rubbish .. just a different version of the long drop.

The ex sister-in-law in Gebbies Pass is OK - shaken and stirred, but OK. Mate lost his villa in Lyttleton, another one on a ship in harbour thought someone had set a bomb off under the hull - really tossed the ship around! Another aquaintance is trying to get out of Chch after seeing a wall fall on 2 people right in front of him leaving a foot sticking out.... he's rather shattered - thankfully the airports open again today.
It's going to be a long hard road ahead, with the anguish not yet over for many.......
