In most states in the United States of America, the only mandatory apparel is eye protection. Exposure of genitalia is subject to laws that apply to all members of the population, whether riding motorcycles or not.

While that is not how I choose to ride I accept that others have different values.

I once thought of converting, but found out the exemption is only up to 50km/h. That, and the whole divorce thing put me off. Nice knifes though.

SURELY there should be some sort of requirement to wear protective gear more than a helmet anyway.... I mean it's similer to sitting on the roof of a car driving down the motorway.

Or at least you could choose a option where you ride in proper motorcycle attire, then you pay less? But if you get pulled over and your reg states you should and your not... then you get fined...

I dunno endless arguement i guess, like i always thought if you crash your car/bike whilst pissed then fuck you, you aint getting any acc or special medical shit, the government will keep you alive like it humanitarily has to do, but at the end of the day, you fucked up =, why should we all have to pay extra for that?
There are two problems with your post.
    1) you are making sensible suggestions to ACC.
    2) you are making sensible suggestions on KB.

Cut that shit the fuck out, theres no place for any of that sensible shit on here...

ride in jandals and stubbies? fuckit, your body, your call. For me, my body is a temple. (No, Im not an adonis, Im shaped like a fucking temple. (marriage does that apparently...) So I always wear decent gear. mmmmmost of the time. kinda.
    but usually

I am continuously amased how some people find it so hard to grasp the basic principles of ACC. It exists to:

    1. Ensure that people return to as great a level of productivity as possible as soon as possible after an accident.

    2. Leave the courts to deal with their primary function - crimes.

    3. Preserve freedom of thought. Hence the "NO FAULT" policy.

ACC benefits everybody, whether you're prone to accidents or not. Therefore we all should bare an equitable share of the cost. It is a public good.

Remember also that the levies that are currently being charge are artificially inflated.

The fact that even a helmet is compulsary sticks in my craw. Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY, has the right to protect me from myself. My head, my body, my decision! End of story.

My view exactly. Only thing is, people in higher places seem to think we should ALL pay more for the privilege.

I disagree with all the comments made.
ACC has no increased due to people wearing the wrong gear. It has increased due to them surviving crashes these days.

Now if we made helmets non-compulsory. The ACC levy would decrease and gene pool would get a bit brighter.

All your going to do by making ATGATT compulsory is make our ACC levy worse and bubble wrap morons so they live/ride longer. I would rather they just learnt the lesson or died.

While tue I think the greater factor in the increase of ACC levies is ACC's creative accounting and the gullible public that actually believe it.

I haven't crashed yet. And because it's one of my legal fuckin rights to be judged by my pairs instead of by some 50+ year old fucken child molesting rapist fuckhead judge, i will use that right! Especially since none of these charges etc have anything to do with driving offences.
