Damn. I run a 16t and I wouldn't like to make that any thinner than it is.

I've just fitted a 16T to my bike, instead of a 15 (because I could only get a 47T rear rather than 44T). Anyway, my 15T had slightly less clearance with the case saver that is standard with my bike than in the link's photo. The 16T fits fine. There is perhaps a couple of mm clearance to the chain. No problems in 500km. So I wouldn't let reduced clearance stop you fitting one to your bike.

For those not on ADV rider, I thought I would show you my latest project. Bashplate.
I didnt really like any of the other ones available, either to thin or looking like a square mouth shovel with the handle broken off !!

Grab handle....I like it.

Problem with a lot of bash plates is they wrap around towards the oil filter, and send engine noise upwards. This looks like a real good solution.

Finaly figured out what to do about the stack of tyres off my motard , I bought a new DR650 and spoked on 17 inch rims , what a blast for such a soft bike it is stupid fast on the road ( allready pissed off quite a few road bikes ) but it's a lot better in the shingle than I thought it would be , genraly I find road bikes better in the shingle but this is so much fun I've found myself out riding at 2 in the morning in the shingle . the other suprise is how well that the GPR a10 tyres work in shingle , it handles so well my mate has just gotten some 17s to spoke on to his 650 and has told me to do more racing to generate more tyres for him to use. Only hassles so far are the overly restricted exaust ( fixed , now better power ) and suspension is to soft , needs way more rebound and a little more compresion but thats happening soon , if I get a chance to let it cool down . At least it dosen't have a fairing as the bellypan on my SV is now rooted from shingle .

I may have a set of 17 inch wheels for sale with tyres and a digital speedo already setup. My son bought his DR650 in motard form but converted it back to dirt and the wheels have sat in my barn ever since. PM me and we can see if a deal can be done either with the Vapor or without.

Whats the first and best 'fix' for improving the brakes on a DR650? Especially the front - ss lines, organic pads, wavy rotor ... fully laden with lardass atop I miss the brakes on my Beemer - they're a bit extreme for the DR, but I don't like DR's front brake lever hitting the stops and the front wheel is still rolling.
