I only know Katie-pie from Facebook and this site, but she sure seems to be a lovely person. I really hope she will be okay Sucks that such a sweetheart is suffering...

Firstly I don't think anyone could hav talked her out of that bike, She had her heart set on it (as much as I suggested other many other options) she wanted to try the sport bike thing. Her decision!
Secondly no one knows what happened and from what I've heard we may never know thats up to Katie if she remembers and wants to tell! End of speculation OK!!!

We all want Katie to read this thread when she gets well enough to log on to see how much we think of her and support her in her recovery!

Hey - where the hell did that come from. I think thats way out of line. You know nothing about this. Katie was not fuelled on by anyone apart from herself to buy this bike. She spent a lot of time researching and riding different bikes.Its a smaller cc rating then her previous. She may not have had it that long, but she has been riding it very carefully and cautiously, getting the feel for it, the different riding style, position, power etc. She had also booked herself in for a pro rider day at Manfield. What happened on Sunday was a bloody accident, and a bloody awful one which could have happened to any of us.
Please dont hijack this thread with these unnecessarily comments. We all want to wish good thoughts and love to our mate, not start a bloody war!

yes, it was an accident. a horrible accident but some poeple need to open their eyes and shut their mouths.

it was a cruiser for god sakes! you can not compare a new r6 to that! that just shows how ignorant you are. it doesn't matter how many ride days and courses you do its your personal experiance that matters. and you can't say that all the attention she was getting from all these men and the comments they all made had NOTHING to do with her decision. again, proving your ignorance.

wishing Katie a really speedy recovery & a genuinely lovely person any one could hope to meet .. determined & strong .. so from this she will recover

as for the bike like Quasi said she researched the bike she wanted and is a cautious rider who has covered alot of country over the last few yrs .. accidents do happen but until Katie can tell us what happened we can all only surmise or assume we know ..

quite frankly I am just relieved she had her cell could make the call then was found & will recover .. catch up soon chick & take the time it takes to heal

Sorry to hear of the off, I to read about it before hearing directly, gave me a moment of HI FIVE! to think that an injured biker angel could be that on to it as to direct emergency services to her...

Right, the thread is for her, i agree. thats why I'm commenting. these people did egg her on, they're a bunch of wankers who only think with their dicks. yes she wanted the r6 and no one could have stopped her but not everyone can see through millions of compliments to what they were really getting at. I was at the first pro-rider course she did, when her M50 was less than a week old.

Everybody there was impressed with how well she handled the bigger bike, and her general skill.

I have read many of her adventures since that day, and had little doubt that she would make a successful transition from the cruiser to the sportsbike, providing she took her time with it.

We don't know what happened, and may never know. What is important right now is that Katie keeps her spirits up and recovers quickly.

I spent several hours with Katie this afternoon.

Wow, her spirit is one tough cookie. Smiling and joking (I asked if she had any hot nurses!) Mostly annoyed at not being able to move. Busted to bits but still smiling.

She is worried about work her dogs and nana more than herself which just goes to show how caring she is. It'll be a while before she is healed and I told her she has a few hundred post on her facebook to reply to. Also while I was there I checked her phone for her but it is to overloaded with texts and needs to be read and deleted before anymore will be received.

She told me her hardest fight is yet to come...

...Convincing her parents to let her ride again!!!

I saw nowhere in this thread people saying anything of the sorts. If there was, it would probably have been in jest. Not everyone here is a complete wanker. This site is a community. We help people when they need it, and support them in their time of need.

Please don't bring the negative side into this thread. She doesn't need to hear your attitude on saying how her choice was her undoing. Until we have more details don't go off making ill-informed speculations.
