    Hmmm...
How many bikes can fit on the trailer?

I could see if we could borrow the van (with towbar) but Jenni would need a replacement vehicle for the day.
Yay! Jenni can have our red rocket for the day.

Trailer will fit two bikes at a push, but if the ply rots through then one'll have to be ridden I don't mind being the chase vehicle if you want to ride. It's got cruise control, init? I can go out back and get the espressos ready for arrival
    Cheers,
    Colin

I willbe going over to do the early trail ride with a trailer - 6x4. I can take another bike over early if required & leave the trailer for someone to bring back to Nelson after the event - or we could change carsat the event?. If I can help in another way please let me know.

Craig, I'd be keen to share ride with you if Colin has already got himself sorted, no point in going out solo if there's others heading out there with space.
Yeah, I'm only in for early trail ride option as well, don't think my soft arse lack of fitness could handle a 3hr race right now.

No worries. Shall we load the bikes up this avo & have an easy morning. Nordie I will take some fuel this time & can carry your bananas & monkey butt cream if you are riding out.

Hopefully Wolfy and I will be vanning using Fluffy's trailer and our van.

I'm doing the trail ride and photo/video of the main race.

Charging the camera batteries up now.

Bike is re-geared, lubed, oiled, fuelled and ready to rumble...

1 tank will be fine for the 1.5 hour race.
The XR would get me through a 3hr on a tank.

Off to M10 for a spare 5L tank.
The 4L in the shed has 2 stroke mix in it.

My trailer is loaded with green & orange veges on the back. Getting a bit of flak about the dualie rear tho. If Icould be arsed i would change to one of froggies 1/2 worn knobblies.

Had a up & down day today at the XC race. I travelled out with Crazyfrog & signed in for the trail bike class ride which coincided with the juniors race. Officially we were 'marshalls' & not required to have a race licence- saving us $20.

After the juniors went round for their sighting lap I rumbled off on the KLX. The grass was wet with dew & the first mild uphill had me off- twice. My dual sport rear wasn't up to the conditions at this hour of the day.
I slunk back to the pits with my tail between my legs & sulked. The boys weren't having any of that & Topo & Warewolf set about a quick tyre change with one of WWs spare tyres. Tho worn, it had quite a good front edge. 2 rooted tubes (one pinched & my spare rotten) later & with Topos new tube in place I was ready.

Crazyfrog came roaring back in on the big EXC with a huge smile on his dial, loving it. I took off after the juniors had started racing to sample the rest of the track.

It was a pretty good track with a few little dips& the odd obstacle.I onlymanaged to get 3 laps in but by the end of the 3rd I was getting a lot more confident.

We watched WW & Topo start the main event. It was a Le Mans start & Topo got a blinding start & roared off competing for the holeshot 300m further down the first straight. WW made up for a bad start with an outstanding 1st lapcoming in not too far behind the leaders.
Interesting after the discussions about starting techniques, the quickest off the mark was a YZF with electric start by a long way
We left after the 2nd lap but the speed that the guns were running at was impressive for this nana.

Cheers boys for the help today & I'll sort out a tube for you Topo-what's the closest bike shop to you? i'll call them & pay for a tube & you can pick it up when you're passing.

Gotta get a new set of bars & new rear Knob before the next one

The cloud layer really helped the exposure of my photos. far less blown out than normal.
My little camera doesn't handle bright sky very well.
