The 650cc thing is bollocks. I can't think of a 650cc bike that would be utterly overwhelming for a n00b let alone a BAB. I can think of plenty of 599cc missiles that that would make '90s Superbikes look fat, slow and lumbering.

The only bike I can think of that is nominally 600cc but bigger than 599cc is Yamaha's SRX600 @ 608cc.

Totally agree, compare a CBR600RR 110 hp against a DL650 (V-Strom) 60 hp, the laws were made by people who clearly don't ride bikes or if they do, don't have a clue.

No you couldn't. You missed my point completely. If there HAS to be differential Rego charging then the 636 SHOULD be charged the most expensive levy. Put a '95 ZX7RR on the track with a 636 and watch the 636 sprint into the distance.

I personally think that if there HAS to be graduated tiers of Rego then it should be on a power to weight ratio, not a cc rating. A Wee-Strom and a 636 are in no way similar and one could easily be ridden as a first bike by a learner. It isn't the 636.

Sold the road bike and only go dirt now. Road riding is too expensive largely thanks to Nick Smith, and you have to share the road with too many myopic fucktards. Off road, more fun and cheaper too.

i will continue to ride my unlicensed 1000 until i sense a sniff at being pulled over,then i will do a runner,all going well ill get away as in the past,but..
if i get sprung,beating the cop over the head with my tyre pando will cause some delay in arrest,but the eventual outcome of being put in club mt eden doesnt actually sound too bad,actually ive always wanted a gym but couldnt afford it
