If everything comes your way, you are in the wrong lane
I just used a 'static' one, cut a small hole near the top and secured it with the bolt holding on the rego holder. Sure, it probably blew around a bit in the breeze, and sometimes stuck to itself when wet, but it was enough ( no prob on restricted).
you could make your own if you laminate this (or use packing tape?)

It seems that whenever I am on the motorway keeping up with traffic, the l-plate will get sucked toward the rear tire and destroyed. Its reather annoying; I need to find a better way to mount it....
We have a static one taped to the back of the GPX. Flaps around in the wind but holds strong. Have had no issues with it.
What are these "L plates" you speak of? are they those little yellow targets people stick on their vehicles?
This was a while ago, but I used an ice cream container lid and yellow insulation tape to make my L plate.
This was a while ago, but I used an ice cream container lid and black insulation tape to make my L plate.
Go to Paper Plus and buy a yellow plastic manilla type folder. Cut a square out of it. Stick some black insulation tape to it to make an L. No problem. (I tried the ice-cream lid, but couldn't find a yellow one.)
If you're really quick you might find mine still in the bin outside AA Quay Street after yesterday's R test.
I was told mine wasn't regulation size... too small, to which I replied that the ones I'd seen were too damn big, so I'd just made one an appropriate size for a bike. He didn't care enough to stop me sitting the test, which incidentally was stupidly easy.
Seriously, make your own, and make it small. Mine was about 120 or 130mm square, and held on with one bolt at the top. Being small also makes it easier to stash under the seat when you get tired of the extra attention you get from cagers on the roads.
Got a set of 2 from the warehouse for a few bucks...
