I have no problem with that, so long as I'm told about it when I pick the bike up from the dealer.

Huh? what is arcane about checking the oil level in one of these?

I made the 'mistake' of test riding a '10 Street Triple a week or so back. Rode it home the same day.

I'm completely head over heels for the thing.

We're in the magazine business darling. We have our oil checked and suspension adjusted for us dontchaknow.

I've even had Erik Buell fill my bike with fuel while I waited - pahleeese.

I've made that mistake too. Just not on a Speed Triple...

Taking the Street to the shop for a bit of pampering... Been given the option of taking the 2011 Speed as a courtesy bike.

I know if I except, I wont be giving it back. Must resist!!

Cheers for the review. I took a Street for a test ride and found that the wind blast was a natural warning at around 140km/h. Which is good. It is too easy on the SV to find yourself very quickly on the wrong side of an instant licence suspension. Just need to sort the paymaster general/wife out now..........

My other bikes had a little window - stand the bike up, check the window.

Without rewriting the manual... (feel free to check it's on the net).

Run the bike until warm, stop engine, unscrew dipstick, clean it, screw dipstick back.
After three minutes (have a pee or whatever) stand bike vertical, put back on side stand, unscrew dipstick, check dipstick, if oil level OK replace dipstick.

If oil level not OK - repeat from "clean".

    Oh for a window?

I much prefer checking the oil via dipstick than a sight glass.
    Particularly Triumph sight glasses.

So are BIKE I believe, but they still stuffed two engines.
OK the first was easily forgivable, but I still have my doubts about that second one.
