    2 arseholes in 2 days...

I feel I need to vent.......
Yesterday, Im on the Nothern motorway heading South from North Shore to East Tamaki. Sitting in the fast lane, comfortable speed, decent gap from the car in front. Check mirrors, car approaching, still quite some distance away..... few seconds later, check again and there he is, right on my ass. He must have been flying! sitting so close and making me most uncomfortable. Im waiting for a space on my left so I can pull over to let him pass but, theres no real opportunity for a while, traffics starting to get heavy. He is so close at this point I decide to wave him back. Shortly after, he spots a gap on the left and dives into it, pulls up beside me and gives me the finger!! so, naturally, being pissed off, I return the favour. He rolls down the window and we start exchanging words.... (like he can hear me through my helmet lol)
His biggest mistake? being a taxi driver. I arrive at destination and promplty get on the phone and lay a complaint.

Today, riding through Glenfield, 50k an hour zone. pissing with rain. 50-55..... flow of traffic speed. Mental bitch following me way too closely. check my mirrors to see where shes at... gone! check my blind spot on my left and there she is, nose of her vehicle so close to my left rear side of my bike it looks like there about to touch!! shes bloody well trying to undertake me!!.... im so fuming. let the horn rip and she promptly backs off.
This is Auckland after all, and we have these nutters on our roads. Normally I let it slide, but today I felt I had to post about it. Havent been online for a while and this is probably the best way to vent, so thanks for listening Kb. Im off to have another cup of you know what juice.
    Cheers.

I hate drivers who sit on your left hip looking for all the world as if they're about to pass on the inside if they can.

Maybe riding doing a bit of a slow slalom within your own lane might discourage following cars to stick too close.

Have talked to a few non bikers - there actually really IS an attitude out there - as we lane split or use a median strip, they sometimes dont think we need a lane.

    Mad aye.

Got forced off the road on Saturday on the way back from Helensville,Car overtaking line of cars, nowhere for me to go,lucky I wasnt hoofing it ,was doing 100 -115k,good emergency braking practise.Pulled right over to the side of the road ,back wheel locked up and trying not to kill the poor cyclist in front of me.
Would have chased the bastard in my younger days..still common sense prevailed.

Yes - own the road (in a sensible manner). Standing up for a moment also puts them off (but that may not be comfortable on a Gladius though).

Maybe she was trying to lanesplit...

Yeah mate, every day I go from Glen eden, over the bridge to Onewa road.
It's fine when I can see, not worry about traction and debris...
Because usually then I wont have to account for the person parallel parking me into the barrier.
    Every single morning, without fail.
People indicate, move, then look. Even had a few muftis doing it, too.
It's not like my bike is whisper quiet and doesn't have a headlight.
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

Im coming to the conclusion that she just saw the gap from the car in front of me, which was quite generous because it was absolutely pelting down!! and wanted it.
That was my space and Im not giving it up for anyone. I will just have to find more effective ways to discourage it..... I like Princess bandits suggestion of doing a bit of weaving now and then. I will try it if I have too.

I was quite impressed with how deftly you wield that beast on the motorway.
