    BUGGER!!!!
That is probably one the worst things to happen to a Motorcyclist.
Thoughts go out to you mate, and maybe in those 10yrs? Medical technology will mke advances to sort out the L4/5 vertebrae.

Enjoy the new drive mate, No going out for a WRX,,,, hehehehe

WRX's are too hard riding, but our MX5 is okay for most of the time. Only a play thing for occasions though...

The Kizashi, is fantastic! Goes like a V6, drinks like a small four, handles like an exotic and has more fruit than a limo! And it's as comfy as!

    Almost missed this...
Sad, Ed, but for the best. A bike is for riding, and you will always have the memories.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Thumbs up

Ed, yer still here mate, we're glad of that and believe me no one is going to let you forget about biking.
Nice to hear that that wee little car is such a good'un.
Take it easy and get as many cry's in as you can before she discovers yer've been faking it.

Got over 40 years of great memories, mate! So I am very grateful to reach this age unscathed from riding bikes in all conditions and of so many types over so many countless miles. I'll be a biker for the rest of my life, if not in practice at least in spirit and with the Shorai batteries am poised to become very involved in the motorcycling scene at all levels.

Last pic of all the toys together... New owner picks the bike up on Sunday afternoon. I told him he would have to wipe my tears off it before he rides it away...

    Gut wrenching.

My physio's threatened me with the same thing. Same vertebra too.

I'll keep riding while I can. Back's been good lately, as long I stop lifting old hot water cylinders into the back of the ute.

I do have the comfort of knowing the guy is same age as me and will look after it like it was his baby, though. He feels for me, too...

    Be very careful, mate!

I just got my final ACC Dr's. report and while my surgery is stable and strong enough now, he diagnosed a degenerative facet disease of my lumbar spine, probably from an old injury I sustained using jackhammers back in '82, which prevents me working such as my old job of sales and marketing manager for more than 20hrs per week.

The accident and surgery have accelerated and exacerbated the progression of the disease, so I have my next apointment with my surgeon on 7th Sept. and will see what he says. Meantime I now have to go back and get all my medical records from my accident in '82 to see if it does relate to the degenerative disease and if so, then it's back on the ACC treadmill for that...

I'm now looking at part-time jobs to replace the ACC income I've been on as that will probably cease on the 7th Sept. if my application for a review is rejected. My business is building up well, though and I'm hoping we can take enough in drawings from it by then to live on until it really gets going.

Medium to long term prognosis for my back is not flash, so I really have to listen to the Docs, and accept my limitations if I want to keep walking.

Eat heaps of steak and potatoes dude, you'll be fucking huge in no time - don't curl in the racks, and leave the machines for the girls...

    PCT..?

I have to get as light as possible to ease the strain on my lower back. I'm aiming for 80kg so I've got another 5kg to lose. I need to be slim with a strong core if I want to be walking in a few years time.

Well, D-day arrived this afternoon... Nigel came down by bus and picked up his new bike. He was stoked to get on it and couldn't wait to get it home to Whangarei.

I am now officially in mourning, which will last all day...

Now, why did the pics load sideways..?
