I was in town on the Vespa this afternoon. Heading home the rain turned to sleet and near Wadestown steady snow. Getting down the hill to my street and then down this steep and lightly used road involved care! The thing about a Vespa is that a simple fall does very expensive to fix damage, it is a steel monocoque construction so a dent in the body is the same as a dent in a car, it has to be panel beaten out. So not the ideal adventure machine if you want to keep it looking smart.
Only two things that stop me using it are GALE winds and any form of frozen water, this time I got caught out, not knowing it was snowing at home.
Road is covered in slushy snow in picture, which then began to build up into snow and ice and become pretty slippery so glad I got home when I did.

Sh*t doesn't just "happen". There is always an a*sehole involved.
This was earlier. We didn't take any photos as it got heavier - the camera batteries died in the cold.

The concern is actually for later tonight. If / when it snows again she may not be able to get home. And be stuck for the night in a lttle black dress & inappropriate shoes.
Katherine's pretty comfortable with that decision
Chat with the neighbours. Check out the minor car accident at the end of the street (but after the photo was taken - Wellington drivers can't drive in snow), that sort of thing. Actually it was spooky quiet, except for the sound of excited kids out enjoying the snowfall.Oh, & the sound of sirens, as the cops came out to clear the accidents....
Driving in the snow is easy, you just push that winter button on the console and then everything will be alright.![]()
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
No snow in WaikanaeFeel a bit left out
maybe later

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.
So...who's up for it on Weds evening??? (or possibly tomorrow evening). I'll bring the chainsaw and strops. Just relying on my brake seals arriving tomorrow (fingers crossed).
will be epic
