NV Motorcycles in Morrinsville have been a Husky dealer for some time & will be sure to help with ur inquires.
update:
my experience so far are as follows.
im helping a mate get his husky boy 50 going, the electrical system on these bikes consists really of 3 parts - the coil and wiring & spark plug lead is 1 part, the stop switch is 1 part and the spark plug itself is the last.
you would think that when you have all the info on the bike, getting parts from a dealer of that brand would be easy. so far this has not proven to be the case
here's a quote from the emails
"I am not 100% sure that they are the same coil
All I have to go by is that the KTM coil as been used in the Husky 50 in the past
Sorry but this is the best we can do"
so this along with the fact that it takes 3-4 days to get a response to an email (if at all) , im no longer keen to do business with this dealer, and am no longer considering a husky as a potential next bike.
long story, and theres a lot more detail, but i've provided them with everything i can, including numbers off the bike and photos of the part, this shouldnt happen.
i wont directly name names, but the thread speaks for itself in this regard
Before buying any Product be it Car Bike BBQ Toaster etc always make sure it's a Common Proven brand so parts are plentyfull .
THE DEAR LEADER SAY'S Life is Hell ride hard or head home just get the fuck outta my way !!!
What year is the bike. The husky 50's are mostly ktm engines with some mods. With these engines the coils and stators burn out. If you know the year I can look up what ohms they should read. That will narrow down your problem. From there you can find the part. Msg me if you need a hand, we are currently running 2 ktm 50SX race bikes and also a ktm 50 mini, so have done a bit with these engines.
Mmmm, I think it might be a little more complicated with dirtbikes than a bbq, my take is it's.
1) Does the company provide a full part/service network, what is the pricing like & can you get details ( I have full parts & service manuals for my huskies ).
2) Is there local dealers who will provide you with support, now if you live in a major city that might be less of an issue, but in rural NZ it's huge, almost everyone I know rides Yamaha because the dealer in Whangarei is frankly amazing & the bikes are bulletproof.
3) What is your likely depreciation.
4) What is the range of aftermarket parts like
5) Can you get a bike you want from the manufacturer.
In my case 1/2/5 were all ticked by husky & 4 is adequate for what I need, I'll lose on depreciation likely, but then again I have a road legal bike with all the road bits in a box, so we'll find out in a years time.
But from everyone I know the key part is a good dealer & that's not so easy, got two mates who drove 6 hours each way thursday to buy new bikes ( orange for all their sins ), just to get to a dealer that worked for them.
no idea what year it is. how do you tell?
the electrical system on this bike is only 1 part, the whole thing is 1 piece
i have emailed another husky & ktm dealer early on friday about it... no response.
im really glad i dont own a husky. dealer / parts support is a joke.
