Or my brain damaged mate, who has just brought a mint 2006 MV Agusta Senna, with like 6000ks, for $20k. And they were something like over $70k new a couple of years ago.

Im still smart enough to know when its a good deal, for as you put it a DECENT BIKE.

This thread is painful to read. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make here. You've been given plenty of reasons examples as to why your price is too high and the only response you have given that seems to make any kind of sense is that you don't actually want to sell the bike, which is why the price is high. Everything else seems to be you getting pissed off at other people trying to explain to you why it's not going to sell.
You can ask whatever price you want for your bike, but that doesn't mean it's anywhere near the price that a buyer will be willing to pay.

This is just my opinion, but I think you're better off not listing a bike at all than listing it way over what it's actually worth, there are plenty of examples of bikes that have sat on trademe for months on end. Eventually they *may* come down in price, but by that time anyone who has been watching for a while thinks that you're a twat and won't bother contacting you anyway.

this is fair comment. and when the price does come to something more reasonable... because its 'been for sale forever' you will need to drop it even more because 'you couldnt sell it before'
I happen to be looking for a ZX6 (or 636) to replace the 9. I can tell you as a potential buyer.. your overpriced and I skipped striaght past your ad. If everyone wasnt jumping on it I wouldnt have paid it any credit at all.

...I know the price is too high I never said it wasnt, if someone would have been interested in giving me something in the 10k range I would have been pleased. However, I do know for a fact that 8.5 is less than what it's worth. Somehow an innocent add post has turned into a huge debocle simply because I suppose none of you have anything better to do than criticise others actions. Also, i would change the price but don't know how

Despite what the bike is worth, the sad reality is there is no one with money in the market this bike is in. The younger people who buy bikes like this are all broke and only getting poorer, but at the same time it's not quite to the taste of the more mature and wealthier (unless it's treated as a crash and burn track/race bike in which case it's not for) who are out looking at Ducati's/MV's or Ariel Atoms. New 600s are taking a bloody huge plummet in sales around the world in western countries as the middle class is decimated.

A friend told me he was talkin to a chap who's been in the bike biz over the years, he asked him where are the supermotards and why aren't there any proper, small sports bikes like the old CBR250RRs and RVF400s being made anymore. He replied, 'Who are the people who buy these bikes? 18- 30 year olds. These people have no money.'
...Full throttle till you see god, then brake.

That's true, I don't know anyone over 27 with a sports bike personally. The people I usually ride with and see on the roads are in exactly that age bracket and as you said have no money...hell I am in that category. I have changed the price on trademe, but it may still be too high for some of you guys.

Oh yeah speaking of, anybody know the story behind this?

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-282981017.htm

It's been on sale for like........... since 2007-8?

Yeah, literally it's been on Trademe for 3-4 years.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
