Very keen. Never done a street race. Is there a good bucket field usually?

Nah, normally only enough to reach the track limit in numbers

Wellington & North guys; we need to make some progress on getting to the BOB this year. Its a good race on a great track, well worth the trip.

    3 months to go.

    Who's keen?
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

I reckon it would cost about $60 per bike complete trip. Depending on timing with my work I might be going down a week early to hang with the family, but could still put my hand up to drive. Will keep you posted. This is the best bucket event on the calendar this year. Don't miss it.
The wife was interested in this and suggested we make a week of it. Then a mate e-mailed and he suggested Moto Gp at Phillip Island same weekend, boyz only. What to do? Checked the airpoints and the Brownie points, and Phillip Island it is.
Probably won't have either this time next year, so Ruapuna will have to wait til then. Cheaper to go to Aus as well.

The field is limited to 35 and is usually one of the first to fill up. Entries on a first in basis.
You do need a full MNZ Licence (no day licences) and have stamps from three track races in your log book to do a street race.

If the northerners were keen on doing the Greymouth street race as well it way pay not to delay the accommodation booking as most of the accommodation is booked out a year in advance so it would pay for those keen to sort it out quickly.

But there's still heaps of room in Chch. They keep complaining central city hotels are almost empty. Too soon?

Anyway Ruapuna is a great race meet, usually two days worth & a bunch of good cunts to race with.

Doesn't have to be that expensive, can likely billet with other local racers. If we get a few going down there makes it quite cheap to travel.

I've driven down friday most years & done the late haul for the ferry on sunday & slept on the way back (take earplugs & a pillow).

This year I'm on restricted time as I have two young kids & the wife is happy for me to go for a night, but two is pushing it.

For once I'm keen to fly down if someone can take my bike/s for generous $. I might even be able to whangle some accom for someone else (have yet to ask).

    Maybe to soon yes Dave

I am not saying accommodation in Greymouth is not available but it is a finite resource.ESP with the pike stuff going on.

I could put up a couple of North Island bucket racers in Greymouth and include a CR500af Supermoto to a suitably qualified 50kg Psycho with a death wish and a low IQ.
