Has anyone imported a shoei helmet recently? I tried ridersdiscount only to get an email back stating shoei banned parallel imports. Sucks, I was looking forward to that shoei qwest helmet.

    Risky business.
I tried a Shoei on in Spain, which was ostensibly the same size as my helmet bought in NZ. It was way too small.

Yes, it is risky even though i tried the shoei on in a nz store it might not be from the north america market. Guess i will just have to do the research, maybe a local shop near me imports them from shoei in north america (as opposed to asia or europe).

I bet it is here in NZ and getting sorted........Patiently waiting....NOT!
Looks as though I may be fitting a new tank this weekend if I am lucky with the postman....It has finally landed and been cleared

Yes. I got it done Saturday. It was straight forward apart from the metal brace that joins the lobes. Because the tank needed flexing, I didn't have enough hands to apply the bolt. Luckily the courier arrived, grabbed him and it was done and dusted. The thing is, I emptied a full tank into the bike, 15 litres and then put another 10 in. Either it was dropping out the end or the volume is not US Gallons but European gallons which would make it a 25 litre tank...I will see, but because Acerbis is Italy, it would explain the volume. Not 19 litres aferall?

GoPro ball and bar mount is here too. I will have it mounted on the bar with the Vio on the helmet

    Sweet, got pics?

Yeah it's 23 litres according to Acerbis: http://www.acerbis.it/images/cat/pdf..._fueltanks.pdf

Bonus, that's a fair bit of extra distance it'll get you.

Got a link to the Go Pro bar mount? that sounds interesting.

Well I squeezed over 25 litres to the top, too much actually because the cap was sprung, when it screwed in it overflowed slightly. So..24 and a bit @ 19-20 Km/l equals a sore arse!

The supplier can get into serious shit for that, as it's fraud.

I've used twisted throttle before a couple of times, good guys, quick shipping. Most packages from overseas take 5-10 days to arrive.

More than NZ$400 (as said) inc shipping, expect to pay GST (plus customs charges). If you don't, consider it your lucky day.

Correct, no duty on motorcycle parts (is there anything else people buy?)
