They might be confused seeing a Triumph going rather than stuck at the side of the road bleeding oil at a fatal rate

Came across a random check myself this morning. Just traversing Ngaruawahia and there's this LEO parked there. He waves me down and I duly stop. He just eyeballed the rego and WOF and then asked me "Full license is it?" To which I replied "Yep!" And he was quite content to take my word for it without checking. I must look more innocent than I thought...

Course I coulda told him that when I got my bike license there were no graduated licenses anyway...all them years ago.

He seemed a nice enough young man anyway but he didn't give me a prize or anything - unlike the OP of this thread. Even a lollipop woulda done.

So you are familiar with ALL the law changes ... since you started riding .... ???

Talk to them ... you MAY learn something ...

and as for (your) attitude ... you seem insulted by being stopped ...

After pulling someone over, who had done nothing wrong, I think she was disappointed there was nothing she could ticket me for.

1st time ever that I have been asked to take off helmet,
    http://www.nwa.co.nz/product_detail.php?P_ID=1550
so Police could check if it was legal. Ah the desperation.

    You jealous FJ?

    sort of ...

Who's to say ... there wasn't a scooter reported stolen from the (your) area ... and if it was ever YOUR scooter stolen ... I would guess you would want EVERY scooter she saw stopped to check its ownership ... wouldn't you ... ???

Well unless they have already resprayed it and changed the plates...you'd want them stopping scooters of the colour/rego stolen.

But lets not put good judgement in the way of a poor argument....why not stop every truck and van and check to see if the stolen scooter's inside

    Very unlikely.
I was not even asked if I was the owner.
The frame VIN number was not sighted and noted down.

It was purely a licence check
then when that checked out ok
    Rego check
    WOF check
then when that checked out ok
    Helmet legality check
then when that checked out ok
    alcohol check
then when that checked out ok
radio in to see if arrest warrant issued
ah bugger gotta let him go

    so yes, a fishing expedition

Depends on how long since it was reported stolen ... and who says the one she stopped was not the same colour ...

Perhaps the OP should have at least asked for the reason why he was stopped ...

Not that she had ANY obligation to answer ... They ARE paid to be suspicious ....

Maybe her bag of Donuts she just bought were still too hot to eat ... and she got bored (it WAS in Southland ... I gather ...) waiting for them to cool ...

The mind boggles ... but I think you failed the attitude test ... hence the checks ...

Doesn't mean you're any good at it
