You ride at nite? man you're crazy!!!- what about the TV you'd be missing out on?????

What I want to know is how you're gonna run your hi & lo beams if you've buried your wires underground?

The only difference between high and low on the TT is that the low beam hits closer to you so is brighter(ish).

I've gone wireless. So much more efficient.

    It's stupid

    Code:
    Travel Static Static%	Race	Race%
    280	30	10.71	50	17.86	Before
    280	15	5.36	45	16.07	After
If you replace a 20mm preload spacer with a 12mm Intiminator, you should increase the static and maybe race sag by the corresponding 8mm. Not have 15mm less sag!

It's the laws of physics! Not to mention maths!

    Ok then...
    Code:
    Travel Static Static%	Race	Race%
    280	30	10.71	50	17.86	Before
    280	15	5.36	45	16.07	After
280	15	5.36	55	19.64	After purging fork air whilst sitting on the bike
Ideally I'd like the old sag figures with the Intiminators installed.
The damping is a little harsh but the brake dive is insanely reduced.

OK, the static sag may be influenced by stiction from the teflon sealing rings. They're not binding up, but may be "snug".
There's no "clunking" at all which usually happens if the rings are too tight.

Wow you bike looks incredible now with those in
You must get a few more horseys out of it now - or will they help keeping those horseys under control.
You could have mine if I knew you were interested...

Nah, that's OK, they wouldn't have fit, bugger it. Kind of you to offer though

It's got that "New Intiminator" chopper feel with the front end kept high in the stroke

At the moment they keep the horsies under some sort of control.
A raised manhole cover is quite smooth as the wheel goes up one side, gets airborne, and smoothly lands on the other side
I'd rather it track over the surface properly.
An email has been pinged off to Ricor to see what shims they used when they revalved it and what I should try.

It's not that heavy. I usually use the bike lift.

    Right.
The Intiminators I got came with 2x0.3mm and 1x0.4mm shims which is actually what is specced for the Triumph twins.
I'm not sure they re-valved them as they were meant to

I pulled them apart and am trying 1x0.3 and 1x0.4 which is weirdly giving 10mm more static sag and the same race sag.
I think the damping is being blanked off by the shims until there's some suspension movement. Thus holding the suspension higher in the stroke.
The damping now is a bit too soft but better than pre-Intiminators.
    Maybe 3x0.3mm next.

    The WeeStrom uses 5x0.3mm shims.

Oh and apparently DRZ400 springs fit in the TT350/600.

    I have just been measuring...
My old DR650 spring looks like it'd fit
The only catch may be that it's the same rate as the TT one...

    Ok...

    Springs...

The TT600 spring is lighter than the DRZ400 spring which is 5.5kg/mm stock.
The TT350 spring would probably be lighter than the TT600 one.
The DR650 spring is 6.7kg/mm which would be a leeeetle bit much

Anyone got an old, manky, DRZ/KLX400 spring gathering dust?

    Electrics...

After a little testing, I found that a GPS 12v adapter will work off a 7.2v battery
I carefully mounted the adapter on top of the airbox where it fits just perfectly, wired it up to the battery and then had to cut some reinforcing ribs from the seat pan as they almost touch the airbox top and there was no way the seat would go back on. Dammit

Oh and then after being pleasantly pleased with my bodging, I realised I actually wanted it to be switched on the ignition

    Oh well. It'll do.

Nice having the GPS backlight on. You can see it properly even in the shade.

    Camera...

The "skeleton" rear door on the GoPro really reduces wind noise, even at 90kph.
Or another way of looking at it, lets more bike noise in that overpowers the wind noise...

Hmmm, looking for a quieter pipe now...

    Brakes...

Oh well, it was a good idea anyway.

The DR650 front brake lever/mastercylinder is no different in feel to the TT350 one

I should have (if the bore was bigger) given me more power and a standard 10mm mirror mount hole instead of that weird reverse thread 8mm Yammy one..

    Brakes II...

Tried bleeding them again and it worked much more betterer. Got some pressure and good flow out the bleed nipple.
A bit worried I didn't get any air though as I introduced a metric shitload when swapping masters...

Hey web browser, shitload and betterer are too real wurds.

    And so is wurds...

    It dosn't work like that....
Putting a bigger master cylinder on you have bought the ratio between master
& caliper piston surface areas closer to 1 to 1... You are able to transfur fluid faster but you won't reach the same pressure with the same power input... yer need a longer lever or stronger hand...

In theory, the DR one has a bigger bore and longer lever, but as I usually single or two finger brake, it stuffs that idea up.

The DR lever also is closer to the bars so in conjunction with the squishy line is a bit dodgy for single finger braking. It'll slow you down but any more than that and you're crushing knuckles.

Bonus of the DR master is mirror mount, (possibly) stronger action, black lever (no alloy marks on gloves, face, etc).
Bonus of the TT master is the lever is (slightly) adjustable and you can get 3rd party levers.

I'll try riding it with both tomorrow and compare.

    Then get a braided line.
