    From Vege:

Well the finer details have been finalised... Triumph Demos from 10.30 am at the Full Moon cafe in Waimauku Village until 3.00 pm. Sign on and get route sheets etc from 11.00 am till 3.00. Then sign on from 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm. at the old forestry headquarters on Ararimu rd, waimauku.
On saturday morning sign on from 7.30 am with briefing at 9.15 am, with first riders leaving at 9.30 am.

The route sheets have been perforated so will be a simple job to assemble..

Finally got some more info emailed to us on Friday, but not trying to be awkward, one would have thought that as the organisers have our entry forms with our addresses, our money paid up, they would have mailed the route sheets out to our home addresses prior to us having to collect them on Friday or Saturday morning, so that we can faff around getting the route sheets sorted and mounted.
But hey, guess that would be to easy...

Yep, got the info. I don't need the routesheets mailed, would be a PITA for the organisers probably, but perforations or no, I would like a pdf emailed to me. Not having to mess around in Friday afternoon Auckland traffic just to get routesheets would be a big plus. But if Crisis is able to pick up ours & deliver them to Chris's place that would be problem solved.

    Cheers
    Clint

Hard to send you a route sheet when the course was only finalised on the weekend.
And to be fair, the only ride I've had sheets in advance for was the Capital Coast.

Unfortunately I now can't attend the ride due to work commitments so you will need to sort out the route sheets some other way, the honour of the LC4 team rest on your shoulders now Clint.....

I have no idea what "maybe you should ride with Jim" is or was meant to apply, however, I dont need to ride with anyone but myself and my route sheet. I also dont think it was unreasonable to question the method of dispatching the said route sheets, considering that $160+ is requested from each rider and I can only assume that a portion of that fee is alocated to the cost of the organisation of the event, route sheets included.

I am sorry you felt the need to take the question personaly.

I wasn't taking it personally - I was merely commenting on the tenor of your question about what is not a particularly big deal.
(Yes, I do know what a pdf is by the way and I assumed that this was what we were talking about all along.)

The point I was trying to make was that these rides are difficult to map out and that expecting them to be finalised more than a week out from the off is unreasonable. I am not the organiser of this ride (although Vege is a good mate), however I have organised rides in the past and I can tell you that printing and issuing route sheets too long prior to event with a route in excess of 300km is asking for trouble. Most of the rides I've ridden do not make the sheets available prior, and the ones that did (Pukemanu and CCA) only had them avaliable a couple of days prior.

The other thing that Kiwi Rider has done is to print the sheets perforated - obviously not available on the pdf copy.

Fair enouph then, now that we all understand the complexities of the issue (not that I had any difficulty in understanding them from the outset, as I have done a fair bit of organising rides ect myself), and that my question was answered to its fullest extent, lets move forward and enjoy a good ride on Saturday.
