I would like to announce that Scout Rd is now easily doable east to west on road tyres and doable west to east
There are no more trees across the track
Also, drop down the track to the north of Mt Everest and a couple of corners later there's a cool ridgeline track that goes up to the right. Couldn't get any purchase with the 705's on the loose deep grit surface. Bulldogging back down and I was sliding beside the bike. Was going to have another go but got a phone call half way down, as you do. Jenni had locked herself out and I had the key![]()
where's Scout rd Nordie?
ah yes, i know the one, isn't there camera's in Hira forest now tho? Just waiting till i get pinged by the aforementioned "man" up there. already been given my marching orders from dovedale to spooners rd![]()

Clearing out Scout Rd
Katie and i have gone to the trouble (easy as) of getting the permit to ride in the hira, moutere and waimea forest areas. to be honest i think that they should be cracking down on the muppets who keep getting in trouble and causing issues, i think "we" adv type guys who think we can ride anywhere we want need to take a serious look occasionally at where we are going and how others see what we get up to.
We can't even keep the mungatapu track open propperly at the moment so why push the boundrys in the forestry areas given there is propper access being allowed without having to jump through too many hoops.
I do however agree with Nordie regarding all the publc easments and legal roads especially in the Hira.
Guys, please don't f**k up the access we still have!

will do, some company would be good as things are a bit reserved on your own, froze my tits off getting back thru the wangas tho, still jacket material i think
Yep. I want to check out the roads off the Slippery Slope of Despair and you don't want to try coming back up that without knobblies or help.
