Just a quick note to follow up what I mentioned on Tuesday about encoding video with your GPU.

Most likely it will either be through the nVidia Cuda or ATI Stream API's.

If you've got a recent nVidia card and Intel processor, try out Badaboom. It's supposedly the best on the market. For owners of ATI/AMD cards, you can take a look at Cyberlink MediaEspresso. These are paid products.

The piece of freeware I used was the Freemake Video Convertor.

Hopefully this information will be useful to those riders who insist on having video evidence of their escapades.
Twist twist, brrm brrm, go go...

Count me in... Now I've got my ride.

Of course, I have no farkkin idea where it is. But I probably could figure it out eventually. That's what GPS is for, right?

So... Meet up at BK early on, or make our own way there?

Cool, lots of interest for Sunday, excellent!

Shall we go via Lyttelton, Governors Bay and Gebbies Pass? Kinda like a 'show the new guy around' day?
We could incorporate the 'explore whats left of the Summit road' in too if people felt like a longer blat.

    What say the masses?

I thought the road between B and C was closed. I haven't been over that road for a long time!

I saw this on the CCC website:

"The Summit Rd remains closed between Cavendish Saddle and the top of Rapaki Track. This closure is in place under the CERA legislation and significant penalties may occur if people are found within the cordoned area. This section of the road is under very high risk of rockfall and is also subject to remedial work making this a very unsafe area"

No idea if that is B <-> C And would you believe it, I forgot my knobblys.

    When shall we meet?

I want to ride somewhere Sunday, was thinking about Lees Valley but could be in for something more basic like this, and I do have a knobbly on up front.

Time change? Aw go on, pretty please!

    Hey kids,

I have some friends in town and we're lunching at about 11.30 or 12. I really want to be able to do both.

I was wondering if you lovely, and might I add very attractive, people would consider going slightly later, say meeting at 1 for a 1.30 depart?
That would mean we'd arrive in Tai Tap at about 2, listen to the band (who start at 1) once they've warmed up and we could all be home in time for afternoon tea and crumpet(s).

Even if it was a 1pm depart, I could possibly make that too but it would be a rush.

But if that's a hassle then don't worry about it, I'll just come and join you at the pub afterwards.
