And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

Sounds like a good plan, meet at 1:00 for 1:30 depart. I'll see if I can round up more troops. I prefer Gareth's route though, (sorry Peeteey) I'd hate to put knobbly's on my bike .

I could've been wrong about that section of road being closed. I have no idea about it's current state at all.

Also, I may be out for tomorrow. I seem to have run out of scratch this week and I still need to buy gas. Lucky I'm working locally next week and will only have to make 2 trips to town. If I'm not there by 1330 tomorrow, don't wait for me. I won't be coming

I can confirm the Summit Rd, Godley Head and even simply Evans Pass are not accessible at all from Sumner, the road is closed from the top Seaview Rd intersection, pretty much where the last houses are.
I actually really enjoy the roller coaster road out to Sumner at present.

Back on the other end it is also closed at the top of the Rapaki Road/Track if you ride it from Dyers Pass ~5km toward Sumner, but is nice and quiet up there now except a few cyclists and a wedding party with the odd car, ok it still has traffic but not as much as before. I went looking today while testing the latest maintenance I've done on the Transalp.
I'll probably do me own thing going earlier Sunday, I want to go further than Taitapu.

Nope, in this day and age who has time for sleep? Its just a waste of time when there is so much to do.

Thats why I smoke meth so I never have to sleep.

Not bad, that warm patch was a surprise, more so how much warmer it was than the fact it was warmer.
Forecast is good for Wednesday finally too.... hope it stays like that.

Was the south side in good condition coming back, did you go all the way down to Weedons Ross Rd?

After leaving you lot I went straight to Darfield, spent my money at Pit Lane, got gas and continued down Kimberley Rd and entered the river roads there.
To get home I turned left for the long way, went up to the gorge then across the bridge and down the north bank gravel. That gate at the MX tracks was open so that was a bonus, I got to exit down at the Old Bridge.
I got wet feet on the deep one on the North bank but only from dabbing both feet, no stopping
