The cool thing is how he doesn't want to let go...thinking he can prevent damage to his pride and joy even if its hurts...

Ooooooh!
Never like the Beemer "bricks" til now - That looks like a great bike, and pretty simple as well, makes you wonder why BMW never put a similar bike out? - sort of a K series HP2 (still the coolest adv bike out there I reckon!)
Would be a slick special if you could get G450 or 650 parts to upgrade a K75 as well...
This KLR isn't bad for a dollar.

never thought i would think of a KLR as cool but that one is
only that one though
'Good things come to those who wait'
Bollocks, get of your arse and go get it
Don't wanna be cynical, but except for the colour scheme I can't see wots so special about that KLR.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
Where's the rear guard? Being a KLR rider, he's sold the unused portion of the seat, & the side covers. The fairing's been cut & shut / tilted foward to get more of a rally look going (actually likely so he can shift the bars forward). Otherwise it Woodmans bike...
Edit - Okay, been to the auction. The rest of the bike is available separately. 1987, so has been tidied. And not showing the wear from the 100k kms he's states. Can see the work in this, but sorry, maybe not 'cool wall' to me.
i reckon it's cool. I didn't pick it for a KLR for a sec. All the better that it's been nominated by a DR rider
Remember boys & girls the rules tho - no posting KLRs & DRs as there are plenty of other threads that turn into slanging matches.

Now no matter how many times I say "Yeah I'm not really into Ducatis..." I always find another one that I really like...

I wonder if there is a rule in 2 stroke engine design that states the expansion chamber must be 50 times bigger than the piston
