If you run on 91 today might be to time to try it or early tomorrow

As preparations for the silly season go into over-drive, Gull has announced a pre-Christmas discount day.

From 7am this morning to 10am on Friday all 91 octane fuel will be priced at $1.99 per litre.

Gull New Zealand's retail manager Graham Stirk said it was a busy time of year as motorists made extra trips to get their shopping completed.

"Our way of thanking our customers for their support this year is to give them the chance to make some savings on fuel. Call it an early Christmas present from Gull.''

Motorists will be able to save further by using Countdown and Foodtown fuel discount vouchers.

Hehehe, suits me my friend... Might pop down tomorrow for a looksie. Just filled the bandit up for my ride to Kopu the other day so if I do a long round-about trip to get to Ngatea I might be ready to fill up again! (yeah, I know damned false economy to get in all those k's just to get best value on discounted fuel - but oh the pleasure from those kilometres).
I lahk to moove eet moove eet...

The one here in Hamilton has been open for a few months. I always use it because you don't need a dig around for a voucher and it tends to be a minimum of 4c a litre cheaper at anytime, usually more.

Just be a little careful. They use a 10% Ethanol mix. Modern vehicles are mostly fine, but others may have problems. Best to check though.

Important... so I'll double not it. Check with your dealer / brand... I know of bikes even very new (<5 years old) where their fuel lines turned to mush from ethanol.

I'm staying clear of Gull purely because of ethanol.

The bike can handle it, or mine seems ok so far, I just don't like the reduced range the ethanol blend gives...

When you're passing thru, you can usually ride right up to the public toilet....and other times you can just blink twice and miss it altogether.
