Just realised (as ya do at 2am) that I wasn't getting updates from here coz I PM'd Maha with my RSVP and offer of help rather than posted. Anywaaaaaaay, my intention is to ride the whole thing too and keep the baton chaps and chapettes company. Will head south on the 2nd so anyone from Auck or points south heading to Welly is welcome to join me. Then we can turn around and come back!
Looking forward to meeting you Tony - these buggers sure have talked you up! Take care man.

Top effort Braeden, Alan (Gemlin) is also doing the whole ride,he is from Auckland but will probably ride down early in the morning and ride back knowing him. Paul (Paul in NZ) is the one to contact or watch out for on here, he will the start the ride off in Wellington..
Barry (DogsnBikes) is doing the whole ride as well so you can choose which way to go at Sanson where the two Batons will part company.

Nup, I'll be coming up from the south after a week and a half riding the South Island, so I'll make sure I'm in Wellington on the Friday night ready for Saturday morning. Looks like there will be 3 of us, so we can choose who goes with which path until the batons re-join.

    Hey iYre,

Could you see if they want to make a video about us, if I could get hold of a camera I can go down and up if petrol money is provided and make a full video of the whole thing.
Rest in peace Tony - you will be missed.

My Plan Tony is too leave Wgtn on the Friday when the ferry gets in around 6pm,which is opposite the railway station,so could meet up if your still in town I hear flights are cheaper after 7pm

On that note. There are 9 spare here plus plenty of camp matresses etc if anyone wants a nice soft place to crash on the Saturday. I can probably be convinced to cook a bit pot of something so it can be reheated so food wont be a problem.
