My boingers need some attention yes. I think they are full of water. Or dust. NO rebound damping, compression damping is minimal at best. The rear is the same story.

I'm thinking about KSS (the artists formerly known as ckt) doing their thing with the forks. Oh and a shiny winning colour shock, with a swedish name.

Carbsurashionizers could do with some poking too. It hiccups when I open the throttle abruptly, also it hunts at idle. And it's slower in a straight than Rachs vfr. Though that could be the weight difference..

As for the buckets bro, I need my own tin top before I can race it. Mine and Bens schedules never seem to work out, so I doubt I'll be there agian any time soon

Just wondering if anyone here has/wants to get rid of/ knows where to go for
    - packrack
    - steering damper

Also, is there anything simple (that a semi-mechanically minded person) could/should do to the bike for safety/reliability/performance on such a trip?

any help would be appreciated fellas!
    Cheers,

haha cheers Gatch! Always forget the undies..

Motorbyclist, where can I get a universal packrack like the one in the image? Havnt seen one like that in my window shopping. My preload is actually set too high for my weight at the moment so I think it will be fine with weight on the back. Good tip with the washing, I have already found holes with no bolts and bolts with no holes...

    Anyone got a steering damper??

there's no packrack - they clip together under/over the pillion seat

    try googling soft luggage saddlebags

Do not buy parts from this seller from that bike,
This is my old bike and it was fully submerged in salt water, everything is fucked, all the bolts have been removed as they rusted out before it left the towies yard for auction.
I think a lot of the parts would still be usable.

but a lot of parts will have had their life severely reduced - borderline criminal selling a motorcycle/parts without disclaiming such an incident if that's what happened

Agreed. Taking off the fairings and providing some close up pics, along with details of the situation would be a better start.

The forks are a bit dear IMO. Sure, for Robert to do that work would be around $1000, and he is asking $800, (plus in effect giving the forks away).

I'm sorely tempted for the VFR rolling chassis I have. But my NY resolution was to clear the credit card before doing any more bike related spending.....
