Have to agree with how good the R35 is. But, each to their own eh?
In the R32 (and R34) defense it was never designed as a "supercar". Where as the R35 was.
The R32 was a "what-if-they-want-a-bit-more" skyline. In the same sort of ranks of HSV or AMG.
People gave it the mantle of "godzilla" after the Jap tuners started to find its claws............Something they had already done with the shopping trolley AE85 and the gas-guzzling boat the celica-supra.
Then again. The original ss454 Chevelle was described as "pray while driving car". Not to mention the "goes around the corner safely if your lucky" porsche's of the 70's.
So I guess every country had piles of shit that people made into "premium drivers".

I agree, I just have to listen to too many people (not you obviously) telling me a standard R32 was a very fast and brilliant car.
I'm a fan of them myself, I'd own one. Not sure why though.

Ah Porsche... another favourite of mine.
    I'm evidently a sick man.

imagine the insurance bill!, plus you couldn't park it anywhere cos the shitkickers would coin it, every set of lights you would have a retard with his cap on wrong wanting to race, if i had that sort of money i would buy a new range rover, bash dents in every panel with a sledge hammer and drive it like a old jap import shopping basket

The Mitsi GTO was just as fast, and people say that was a heavy, dull sack of shit.
It was great in race car form, was good in road car form, a 165kw SS (from back then) was a slow, sack of shit, still is. They're a joke, a 2.5 twin cam BMW will laugh them off (been there, done that)

I understand how fast and brilliant the Skyline is, It doesn't float my boat.
I live in my mind, I want V8 noise with a blower on top, torque and room.
The R35 is an amazing car, yes, best value for money street car on the market, no doubt there.
Surely, you owning a TLR would understand, why pour money in to that when you could have a S1000RR, which is superior in every single way?

I am not worried about outright performance, if something suits me, or gives me a hard on, I'll own it... I've had fast, I've had slow, I own whatever gives me tight pants, for example, I love Morris Minors. I love Rover P6's. I love my overweight Kawasaki, have done since I was a kid.
If we talked performance, a McLarcen MP4-12C will eat a GT-R in every single aspect except price, but the GT-R has shit paint and is fuck ugly (in my opinion), I put a dozen of your choice that it doesn't hold its value as well also.

So yes, each to their own.
All good fella, just enjoying the debate, hell i went from an R32 to a shitty old XR8 but hey it floats my boat and serves a purpose.

    Floats it or anchors it?

That's a lovely car, and being one of 77 ever produced, you were lucky to see it and snap it.

Many commenters on this thread remind me of the times when I've been driving a Holden and some Ford lover tells me, unsolicited that my car is crap because Ford is better, and when driving my Ford I get told that it's arse because Holden is better. 99 times out of 100 the commenter has never owned either, or seldom driven either.

    Thanks for the pics!

Its only a small boat so something like ummm lemme see maybe an old bevel drive would be sufficient to anchor it with.

Ford vs Holden is like Morris 1300 vs Austin 1300
