+1 to that. I doubt the 250cc 4 strokes will do much more than 170kmh. Maybe on a long road lying down on the fuel tank it might do 175kmh.

doubt it. had one, and sure, the speedo says 180, but no way was it a legit 180.

too many people get carried away tugging on their tiny dicks trying to make them longer by bragging about the indicated speed that their bikes reached.
get a gps, with supporting video and then maybe Ill believe it.

    +1

I had an rg150 indicating around 190 on a long bit of road. Pretty confident it was closer to 145-150.

    Speedometers are just interactive decoration.

The same speed issue goes for any bike and car.

So indicated compared to indicated is the real comparison. I wouldn't think it would be much more than 10k's out, if it is out by much at all.

Out & about recently in a very big paddock my mate was riding the wee Lanza showing 110kmh on the clock, higher would be cruel with low gearing me thinks. I was trying to get the KDX 250 working properly & it went past the DT like a rocket in 3rd. How fast do the green ones go?

will confirm it can do 175 on a 250 4 stroke, not the smartest on a naked bike, but yes, hug that tank.

Lol, SMOKEU obviously doesn't know shite about 4 stroke 250's, I've had my CBR250RR over 180kph several times, on my GPS, with only a couple of mods. Sprockets, jets and needles, a good air intake and exhaust, and that was about it.

In fact, the highest speed I recorded on it was 214kph (GPS again, and yes I do have the recorded 'track' to prove it) when I was running a highly modified set-up, but it wasn't economical for the street so I have since gone back to almost factory settings.

...and the number of times this thread has been resurrected astounds me!

Lol you can laugh all you want, but when I can keep up with an 1198 Ducati (on a recent ride up to Cape Reinga) and a CB1000R for a fair bit of the way back, who's really laughing?

I'd have to say, I'm sceptical of you GPS unit, either that, or you've got to do a proper run, and get in the record books if this link is to be believed. If you believe the link, the record for 250 4t is131.6 mph (211 km/h)
