    Ain't that the truth !

Lighting up the rear in top (not long had motard set up) think maybe rear contact area not good enough, running
140 but only 80 - 90 mm of tyre actually making contact, tread 180 across. 31 psi cold , low profile battlax

Same sound as with E07 when got towards the center band, think clutch in good nick, 10k bike. Just revs out all of a sudden - feels ok - straight line stuff.

What ya reckon crasher - think be more traction than clutch ?

The high tyre pressure will be making it want to light up, but as grunty as XR650's are...they won't be spinning top gear up.

22-24 psi cold would be bettera I think mate.

If it goes up by 4-5 psi when hot it's perfect.

    Interesting !

    I put 40 in night before and after 100 k's 44 psi.

Didn't feel that comfortable yesterday on the greasy mountain twisty stuff but what does.

Time before that ran at 34 and was decent amount of heat in rear after 50 km.

Still some heat this time - maybe tyre meant to have bit of heat.

Prob like most things with performance - better it is more it cost less pressure.

JUst fuck around with it until you find the pressure that feels best to you mate.

The KX500's/RMZ450's I used to road race are quite a lot lighter than your XR anyway.

No where ya coming from, With the K5 being 14 PSI in the book and XR 25 and 18

65 HP at 99 KG's no wonder K5 the legend it is (Lucky to have one in the stable) - DR grouse bike too power to weight.

XR great bike on the hills with all that torque - pulls like the proverbial skool boy - love the sound when ya come of the gas.

    Ya still racing ?

It was an RMZ450 I was racing not a DRZ 400 mate. I did own a DRZ400, but just had it to give to mates to ride so they could come along too!

An RMZ450 is quicker to ride both on and off road than a KX500. Stop watches don't lie.

    How ya get onto cr250

Hahaha...all good mate. The 450's hook up better than a 500 smoker...so you can get out of corners quicker, and as we all know...drive out of corners = speed down the straights!

I ride 'em all the same way. Try and stretch the throttle cable!!

Always thought the 79 Elsinore was the best looking bike of it's time...still do!

This is Rachel's bike..it's on it's way to us now.Click image for larger version.
