Thought so, still curious as to whether the lens rotates similar to ContourHD's, cause I'd prefer to mount it on the side of my helmet.

If you read the posts you will see that the OP has covered that off. A very much manual adjustment but is pretty easy.

The thing thats worth it with the gopro is the sound.... No serious wind noise and you can still hear the bike. No idea how they do it but it works.

Yeah but it's not hard or expensive to just replace/extend the microphone to fix that problem, you can even route it to your helmet like this guy so people get to listen to you talk nonsense!

I went on trademe and found the "HobbyKing HD Wingcam" for $88.00 bought some Velcro (proper stuff, dont get the cheap stuff) and a Micro SD card out of my cell phone.

All you need is a MicroSD card with a minimum Class 6 transfer speed, if you dont have one you can get an 8G card (Class 10) from Telecom for $39.99

Quality is really, really good plus it has a wide angle lens and its so tiny, only 1 3rd the size of a credit card so you could mount it almost inside your helmet. I did mount it on a slight angle by mistake but never mind, you get the idea.

Heres a YouTube video just testing it down the road and back, would be better mounted behind a screen so the wind noise wouldnt be so bad.

    NOTE: Watch it in 720p

Is that an oxford helmet? Where does one find a place that will sell this velcro?

I wouldn't mind getting a camera for a bit of fun. How long does the battery last one this one.

Nothing cheap if does not do the job

All the cheapies full down when viewed on large screens, this one looked good on phone, 22 inch monitor pixelated - had the pro on 50 inch plasma and not one bit of pixelation. Scored my HD ages ago off ebay for 4 hundie delivered and came with free 16GB SD card. Place to get them cheap.

When ya in ya senior years and ya eyesight may not be as good as it use to be, reminiscing with Go Pro footage be worth the $ spent decades ago - "No one ever regrets buying quality"

Only thing with this camera of yours is that you don't know how reliable it may be.
might break down after a week.

Oh c'mon, it's not that bad...

Not everyone needs [not wants] to video with a 5D Mk II and 50mm f1.2 L lens... sometimes a GH1 with 20mm f1.7 pancake lens is good enough or even a G12.

    Shhhhh, adults talking here...

It was just a metaphor for the debate about Gopro vs the Wingcam, not suggesting the use of full-sized digital SLRs on a motorbike or helmet [though skydivers have mounted smallish entry-level DSLRs on their helmets before the advent of Gopro]
