    Revit jacket

I am a big fan of Revit gear...last year I bought a Revit Ignition Jacket.
It seemed to me at the time, that it was the best on offer, as it had removable quilt liner/waterproof liner and would be a great summer jacket...a prime 3-1 Jacket.
I thought I was buying a waterproof Jacket...but it is just the liner that is waterproof, not the jacket.
And the liner is so so at best.
Well, I have had it back a repair (albeit a small one) and ....when removing the removable liners, some of the plastic domes part company with each other…not really worth the money paid in hindsight. NZ$699 ….AUD$373
Waterproof?..no not really. All in all it’s a very good summer jacket.

There is the all new Revit Ignition 2 jacket out now but, I have my sights on another.
    The Revit Phoenix Waterproof Jacket..AUD$386.00

    Sales pitch…
The PHOENIX jacket offers the same functionalities as the popular IGNITION jacket yet with a sportier cut. Mesh panels on the arms, back, and chest of this ventilated jacket keep you cool in warm weather, while the 3-layer membrane functions as a wind barrier to keep you dry when the rain starts falling.

I will probably be buying the same problem but won’t be spending as much.
The big difference is...the Pheonix is a waterproof Jacket.
The Ignition are a good Jacket, good fit etc, and I have seen a few of them being worn, just not worth the money you pay here in NZ in my opinion.

Do you want this under reviews instead?

A lot of Revit Jackets (increasing number of pants) are marketed as all season, so yes, the outside isn't waterproof because it would make it hell in summer (well, in a place that had a proper summer). The trade off, as you have noticed, is that the outer shell gets wet, removing a layer of thermal protection. Worse is when it rains in the evening and you ride into the night in a wet jacket.

I've compromised by simply throwing a thin basic rain jacket over the top instead, to give the upper body waterproof gear.

As an aside, the Revit Sand Pants are three layer as well, with the waterproof liner being removable. I prefer waterproof on the outside, however, when adventure riding it's often slow going, or stopping, taking pictures etc, so the gear would be extremely hot.

Not really a review, more of a view point.
My revit pants are the bomb, best I have owned and will never go back to leather.
They are three layers and just brilliant...another view point

On the Te Kuiti ride, I was glad I took my Wool lined Oil Skin vest with me...when the sun got low, so did the temp (as it would) and the vest came into its own...$80 I think that cost me, great investment.

You keep saying that Rob but it not the case, the dakar pants are $140 cheaper...
Prices are about 1/2 of what you pay here..yes add on the exchange rate and $17 for delivery, but you still come out better off.

So working on the current conversion rate and the $17 freight you save $26. And you dont get to try them on.

The list price on fc-moto includes 19% sales tax, which is deducted before processing orders that are being sent outside the EU. Could that account for the difference in your calculations?

Didnt know that, cheers. But with clothing I would buy local to ensure correct fit. More so on cheaper brands.

I have the Rev'it Sand Pants (not Dakar), have a set of Proton as well. Sand pants mated to Off Track Jacket.

spokes, Rev'it Sand Pants here retail for $499.95, they didn't have my size and I gave up getting it sorted here after a couple of months. Landed from FC-Moto for $300.70 about a week and a half later.

All previous purchases were here, but I know my sizing, and after the last mess, yeah, FC-Moto is much more appealing. Ironic that the day after placing the European order I was finally told my pants had arrived (and the day before ordering I was told it would be 2 weeks before they arrived). Highly annoying a dog attacked me the day after the pants arrived from Europe and put a couple of holes in them near the bottom of the leg

The pants Maha quoted were $299.

    Dogs suck, bite it back.

All for buying overseas if theres a point to it. Parts for my car are 10% on ebay to what they are from a dealer.

I had previously bought a couple of items online from QMoto but thier sizing is all up boohaaaaa.
So I swore I would never buy online again.
If I need to replace any gear, it will always be Revit because I like the stuff.
You dont have to worry about size differential crap.
Same with my helmet...the question was asked 'what if it doesn't fit'?
Why wouldn't it...I always buy KBC.

Yeah sorry, was correcting Maha a little (as I don't have the same), but also commenting on price difference. As said, you don't pay the European tax, so the shipping is effectively free on the sticker price, plus you get a bit back. If it's under the $400 mark, then no tax here.
