Nothing makes you laugh as much as seeing the idiot 10k up the road talking to the disco light brigade
If they don't catch the *555ed straight away though, the cops can do little. I know this because after three calls about SOMEBODY doing wheel stands on the motor way, on a bike the same as mine, with matching registration number, I received no ticket after a brief interview with the local constabulary.

I'm told, the trick is to keep the wheel up for such a long time, that the story the cops hear is pretty unbelievable. Then when they ask about it, laugh and looked shocked they'd taken it seriously enough to get you down there.

But if the Com's center takes the details of the caller ... and they are willing to appear in court ...

Yip, a possibility. Would be a very stupid person that admitte to such idiotic behaviour in the first place though, I'm sure someone with such low regard for public safety would plead innocent and have a fairly easy case to defend.

Hmm, I COULD show you a list of people who have appeared in Court in those circumstances - and to their dismay they found it a case that they couldn't successfully defend...

I'm not quite as dumb as I sound or look, there is no defence to be had, nor would I, (if I had ever broken the law) try to defend doing wheelies in court. I might try the argument regarding sentencing, that it is safer to brake the law on purpose, than by accident in such circumstances as wheelies.

I'm not sure I would agree with that statement

Aside from the fact that no admission on the part of the person(s) stopped to issue a ticket is required. I don't think they even need to tell you they have a witness that will testify in couirt against you. The camera phone downloads (especially the one's with a video) are pretty easy easy nowdays. And are pretty conclusive as evidence.

And only those with a low regard for public safety would try to defend it anyway ...

To argue with a judge regards sentencing ... can only go bad.

If true then you were lucky, mabey the cops got pulled to something more serious , or they wern't sure their witness would show up in court.

As for keeping it up for soooooooooooooooooooooo long that the cops don't believe you . Use that excuse in a porn video, the cops won't wear it.

The whole *555 setup only works when there's nothing else pressing to attend to in my opinion. I drive for a living, and out of all the times I've called *555 (apart from 111 for the real drunk buggers) it's been a relatively lukewarm response and only one capture of a noddy tintop pilot...

Had a bloke in an R32-variant skyline, oncoming, in my lane overtaking around a blind corner at great speed (in Beachaven, no less, north shore). Stopped straight away and *555'd with haste and continue on to my dad's house (Pants full of shit, obviously), bloke was pulled over not 2-3k's up the road, was some good shit.

The other 4 times have been much what you described.
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.
