The new bike is going really well and it was fun taking in the new deviation that has now been prepared to gain access onto the 4 x 4 tracks.

The weather is also looking good, so this should be a great ride.

    Hmmmm,
This adv riding gig is certainly changing.
Don't get me wrong, I understand alot of work goes into organising rides. (done a few myself).
But getting paid had never crossed my mind. (XR/DR/ stinky riders are usually broke the day after pay day anyhow)

+1 jaffa's are always flush with cash...not like us poor southern boys besides, If I don't run the risk of getting lost, yelled or shot at for riding where I shouldn't, doing as litte preperation as possible and dragging other simliarly non equiped and gullable adventure entusiasts along with me with little (no) support, then it ain't much of an adv ride
    ....wherezz that track go

    Thumbs up Getting Paid?????

WE now have people making and marking our rides for us, which is excellent and some of these rides are over PRIVATE lands to which we are charged a "Group Fee" also. Many, many property owners ask Does Your Club Have A Permit???? Liability is a huge concern to property/station/forestry owners, and this question needed to be answered. The Flushing Out Of Cash????? How to FLUSH OUT CASH????

This New Club has been an excellent exercise, and to find from this result that we have so many who like this idea and to have joined our club accordingly is wonderful. We now have the funds to purchase our CLUB permit. This provides us with Fire Insurance and also Public Liability cover. Each member that has chosen to join us now owns a small portion of this club's permit and cover. Owning a permit has come about not from talking about the idea of having an actual ADV club, aka idle chat, but from the actual hard time and effort month after month Planning/Organising etc etc etc etc etc etc etc the list goes on - since we first started this club beginning of this year, and has now resulted in that we are now up and running and SAVING funds from each and every ride has given us the funds for this our goal, to own our club permit.

This Club now also has a brand new sponsor behind us also. I feel so very very proud of everything that I have achieved. To have many behind me that also like this concept and now also a sponsor who also likes the hard work and time and effort that has been put into this is payback to me and more than everything that I could ever have hoped for.

It is awsome tht people are now taking interest in providing these rides for us and we are more than happy to pay a small fee for time taken to provide us with a ride. We fully appreciate the time and effort it takes for someone to spend many hours on our behalf to make these rides for us. Thanks very much for your feedback.

Our forestry access also unfortunately does NOT get given to us for FREE either, and as a new club we look to follow in accordance to forestry guidelines and to have permitted access also, sad but true. Permits for legal access to areas is not FREE and does not come cheap either.

If you wish at any time to provide our new club with a mapped and marked out ride please do not hesitate to contact us. We appreciate the valuable time taken to provide these wonderful rides month after month for our members who have chosen to join us. We now also have a permit behind us and rides can now be made legally into forestry areas on the back of our club permit. We look forwards to having more like minded people on board to assist with the future of our club ADV planning of our rides. We wish to have an actual ADV riding club for everyone to enjoy and for more to come on board and to assist. We will also look to follow in the correct guidelines also.

We also notice there is a huge intake at each and every one of the more expensive five star high quality ADV rides that are currently being provided by BUSINESS ADV riding companies both here in the North Island and also the South Island. Business is booming for them and every one of their rides are FULLL. There seems to be a HUGE interest in also attending these quality five star ADV rides also. This also applies to the five star quality training sessions that are also being hosted around the country, the intakes are also full. Many that attend these five star quality ADV rides and tours/training sessions are Kiwi Bikers also???? I personally know of quite a few???

Thanks once again. Please contact if you wish to assist with the future of this new club.

Good on you Sue, Jim and helpers. I'm a Jaffa but I'm not flush with cash (spent it all on the new bike ) so I appreciate you finding cool places to ride at minimal cost compared to the big adv businesses. Keep up the good work and let me know if I can help out.

BTW you mainlanders shouldn't complain. You have some awesome rides on your doorstep. I've invaded the mainland a few times and looking forward to going back as soon as I can.

I will sit in your corner an be your friend Nigel No you cant have one of my samwitches
Ok so maybe Im just paranoid but the more organisation, permits clubs and stuff I see, the less comfortable I feel.
All power to those who have gotten clubs up and running in any shape or form, so long as we all keep in mind the good old "cause and effect" laws.
Remember every action cause's a reaction. I would hate to see areas closed to "we the great unwashed" simply because we are not organised or wont pay

Please dont use the dark blue highlighter, its hard on my eyes

Righto Nigel, whats in your lunch box?

Trouble is it's already happened. Lots of areas are already off limits. What Sue and the club are doing is working with the land owners to get access where it would otherwise be impossible. Unfortunately this doesn't come free of charge.

    Thumbs up Operating Within Guidelines

Did you pack tht snack Attackkkkk Packkkkk y o u r s e l f ??? On a funny note you must admit the dark blue certainly made you look that bit harder I can see those worms dangling from the very edges of, yikes they have l e a k e d . Yikes would hate to open your snak box ..... Neva been overly fond of Worms my friend So sorry I am just back from the local store and left my b r o o m at the store

I am in a very good mood this evening,

In Akd and the closer surrounds allll access is gated and locked and we must look to comply with forestry regulations and rules at alll times.
Why have they locked us out of these areas???? ANSWERS please...... What must we do to gain access to these areas?????? An even tougher one??? Where apart from local access roads is there for us to legally be able to ride thru??? And what restrictions are there upon us to be able to do so???

Reminescing - my son on his F800 riding thru a road (it was NOT a road that required a permit to ride thru)

    http://s1217.photobucket.com/albums/dd396/suzieq1250/
Plse take a peek at the very first pic featured here of Tim riding his bike thru a PUBLIC PAPER road, and the comments I received when I got home after posting this pic of Tim.

Hope the boys had a permit
This comment delivered to me from HANCOCKS FORESTRY MANAGEMENT

We must ensure we are following FORESTRY rules and regulations hence this permit issue and one of great importance as we all seem to very much enjoy doing this sort of riding. We are about all makes and models of bikes and look to make this club a great one for ALLLL to enjoy. I feel certain we can allll work together and make this great for everyone to enjoy. WE are alll ages and all skil levels also and we have a large proportion of those amongst us with big bikes so we also try to have rides for our big bikes also. WE really do try to cater for all that attend our rides.
