It's a bit of a thread dredge I know but I couldn't find anything current

Due to an accident involving scissors I need some new trou . I've been wearing Rally X for a while now but insurance only covers so much and I'm an invalid for the next wee while, so was looking at some "Nordic" pants on line. Does anyone have any experience with em ? or any other recomendations ?

Wondering whether the EVA padding would be better than the rubber hip protection on the Rally X I really liked the Rally X, had 2 pairs now, but wondering if there's something else that is just as good or better, I fopund the Rally's flapped around and got burnt by the exhaust on the 350 and 750.

Could you just beef up the hip padding in the Rally X pants with some firm closed cell foam or similar? Hip padding seems to be pretty thin/nonexistent in a lot of pants, so I've made new padding for a couple of pairs of ours. I haven't crash tested them very comprehensively though

Yes... that is an option, but if I can get something comprable for a less than $250 than I'll have give it a shot. A new helmet will gobble up most of the available funds, without dipping tooo much into future international adventure funds

have you looked at ridersdiscount.com. Real good prices and cheap freight, and without starting a buy locally row, I was comparing same same brand, size etc on a top of the line jacket with NZ suppliers and would have saved $380 buying from USA.

My spool pants are about 8 years old now and apart from a split crotch they are in excellent nick, if thats any help.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

After the Trans Alpine Scooter Safari (you know you all want to donate to the cancer society - http://www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/ryancooney/) you can have my pair of Nordics if you want them. They've had minor use and have a couple of minor holes on the shins where stones have hit. Only thing is they are a little big on me around the waist so might be way to large for a rake like you.

They are like wearing a pair of thermally lined yellow PVC trou. I get wetter on the inside on a dry day than the rain makes the outside on a wet day. Definitely don't work for me and ADV riding. I've not looked at them for about 3 years now but I think the padding is marginally better than the RallyX. I'm still a big fan of motox trou with knee pads and if you're worried hip pads maybe some padded shorts

    Cheers R
